The Hunt Seat Equitation On The Flat Report: Georgia Thrown From The Horse At NCEA National Championships
Over the weekend, the Georgia Equestrian team traveled to Waco, TX to compete in the NCEA National Championships. They set off with all the gusto of a young girl ready to ride her Shetland pony. Needless to say, it did not end well.
The weekend left the Georgia riders bruised and broken and the team's season dead as a doornail.
The competitors in Waco were brutal to say the least, including all 3 squads that had defeated the Bulldogs in the 2011-2012 campaign. To learn in greater detail how the Dawgs fared, hit the jump...

** Brought To You By: Elmer's Glue-All -- When It Has To Be Equine, It Has To Be Elmer's **
I'll quickly summarize the Southern Equestrian Championships for those of you who don't want to be bothered with the minutiae of collegiate horse riding:

The Hunt Seat Equitation On The Flat Report: Dawgs Defeat Texas Duo, Fall to Okie State
Over the weekend, the #1 ranked Dawg riders went on the road for the final stretch of the equestrian "regular season." It served as an opportunity for the team to prepare for the upcoming Southern and National Championship competitions. It also gave them a precious opportunity to visit one of the twenty Whataburger franchises in the Greater Dallas area. This makes me insanely jealous, though I'm partial to the Belton location. But enough about that**.
If you want the short version it's this: Georgia whipped SMU in Dallas and squeaked by TCU in Ft. Worth before falling to the Cowgirls (Cowgurls?) of Oklahoma State in Stillwater.

A visual interpretation of Saturday's event in Stillwater.
If you want the long version, hit the jump...
The Hunt Seat Equitation On The Flat Report: Georgia Takes Its Revenge On Steve Detwiler
This was an action packed weekend if you've got a thing for the ponies (Auburn fans getting all hot and bothered at that statement will be reported to the proper authorities). The #3 Georgia Bulldogs played host to a pair of teams in Bishop, GA on a weekend which saw the Dawgs continue their streak of successful outings. Baylor and Fresno State rode into town with hopes of unseating one of the nation's premier teams. Like so many others, they left bloodied and soundly defeated...
The Hunt Seat Equitation On The Flat Report: #3 Georgia Completes Conference Sweep With Win Over #1 Auburn
Saturday morning the Dawgs rode into Auburn, AL seeking to sweep the #1 team in the country. The Auburn riders sought to defend their top ranking and hand the Dawgs their second loss of the year. Like Catherine the Great in the myth most commonly associated with her, the Auburn team began the day with the promise of an exciting encounter followed by a spectacular finish. Also like the mythical Catherine, the day ended in their demise...
The Hunt Seat Equitation On The Flat Report: #2 Georgia Downs #7 South Carolina 11-8
On a beautiful Saturday afternoon in Bishop, Ga., our beloved Georgia Bulldogs mounted their majestic steeds as they prepared to take on the [Mascot Redacted] Riders of South Carolina. The Bulldogs would leave Bishop with an 11-8 victory, a season sweep of the Gamecocks, and a 7-1 record heading into their matchup with #1 Auburn later this month. However, the Gamecocks didn't go down without a fight and it took some end of match heroics to ensure a Bulldog victory.

Wheeeeeeeee!!!
