Les Miles Gets in Bed with Spurrier, Wants Division Records to Determine Champs

From our SB Nation Atlanta Site, Les Miles wants the division record to determine who goes to Atlanta. Apparently Miles, like Spurrier, is upset about this year's schedule. ESPN just covered this on their gameday show. ESPN just stuck to their narrative that UGA has an easier road and got slaughtered for an easy schedule by the ESPN talking heads.

Editors note: How hard is to understand if non division games don't count, they became glorified OOC games? I would vote UGA never play LSU or Bama ever in that case. Idiots. So you could lose a bucket of games & have no national scene, but still go to Atlanta if you won your division. GRR.

About a year ago, the Georgia blog About Them Dawgs did an article on the five black players who broke the color line at UGA. In it, they discussed the story of James Hurley who walked on the football team in the late 1960s. At some point, Hurley dropped out at Georgia and then went to Vanderbilt where he may have played on the Commodores football team as early as 1970.

I've outlined what I know in a post today over at Team Speed Kills. I could use some help nailing down the particulars of this for a research project I am working on. I need to know when Hurley may have walked on then been granted a scholarship. If he actually made it onto the field in 1970, Hurley could be the player who deserves credit for integrating Vandy football.
