the former Diamond Dawg hurler is getting a lot of love right now from lots of places, as he excels in the Braves minor league system.
A Star System has been named in honor of UGA.
Former Bulldog ILB Alec Ogletree was featured this morning on ESPN's "Sport Science." I always find these segments interesting, but paid particular attention to this episode. In case you weren't aware, 'Tree is a freak of nature.
This isn't really shocking news to most people that follow Georgia Basketball, but KCP has decided to go pro, and will be hiring an agent, so his basketball career is over at UGA. He's the most complete player we've had in quite some time, so this loss definitely hurts for next season. Mark Fox has his work cut out for him now.
Congrats to former Dawg, G.G. Smith on the head coaching job at Loyola University in Maryland.

Always liked G.G.
This is the video they showed at G-Day of the David Richt song with his "dancing Dad."
The SEC has bought back it's third party TV and digital rights from IMG College, Learfield Sports and CBS Collegiate Sports Properties, "the three rights holders that work with the conference’s 14 schools. Those third-tier TV rights represent one football game, eight men’s basketball games, baseball, women’s basketball and all other nonrevenue sports that are not picked up by ESPN or a syndicated partner." Link to Sports Business Daily article is above. This is good news, as it should put more basketball, baseball, women's basketball, and other sports that are currently shown over the internet from each school under one umbrella on TV, and hopefully free on ESPN3 as well. It's been a pain the past few years to have to pay $10 to LSU or Alabama to watch a 3 game baseball series on their equivalent of "GTV," then turn around and drop another $10 two weeks later to Mississippi State or Auburn to watch the games they're hosting, only because those schools have different rights holders. Good job by the SEC joining the 21st century in this regard.
