Blutarsky hits on something I mentioned in the last month or two, about just how bad LOIs are for the student athlete. It's an extremely one-sided deal that gives the student-athlete nothing in return for the school getting everything. His story is based in part on an Andy Staples story for SI, but the Senator says what I've been saying of late, just more eloquently. Check it out.
Blame me for letting this slip through the cracks. Dusan Langura, a 6'3 SG from Switzerland who has attended high school in Acworth will join the team as a walk on. You can watch some of his highlights here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWHHI_Tu8Mc
This was the rumored move after Kwanza Johnson left for TCU. Congrats to Jonas, and good luck to Fox and the entire basketball staff. They have their work cut out for them to develop this young group into a quality basketball team after they were so reliant on KCP a season ago.
Same old same old business as usual, with everything taking a back seat to football. Perno's comments are accurate. The Coliseum and Foley Field need to be replaced, but it doesn't look like that's coming anytime soon. It's really disappointing to read articles like this.
Expect Braves roster move tomorrow. Will likely be UGA product and 2012 draftee Alex Wood at Turner Field up from AA.

With injuries knocking Atlanta's top two lefty relievers out for the season, it was only going to be a matter of time this year before Alex Wood was called up to Atlanta. The Braves are desperate for bullpen help, and Wood will be nice out of the pen, but I was hoping he was going to get a bit more time in the minors to continue working as a starter. Hopefully this desperation won't hinder any development for Alex and he can resume working next year as a starter, as many people think he'll have a shot at competing for and winning the 5th spot in the Atlanta starting rotation.
Jaryd Wilson, with the Hawks official website at Hawks.com, asked me some questions about KCP. Above are my answers, and their profile of him for the upcoming NBA draft at the end of June. You can check out their other stuff at their draft central page, linked here. Thanks to Jaryd for letting me help with this.
Georgia sophomore TE Ty Flournoy-Smith will transfer, Mark Richt confirms. JUCO a likely destination and possible he could return to UGA.

It seems as though the UGA Hockey Foundation is trying to get the word out and gauging interest in a possible ice rink in Athens near campus. Thought I'd help spread the word...pass it on! Go Ice Dawgs!
