Apparently our marching band plays football: Band Bowl V

Apparently the Redcoats are playing Georgia Southern in the fifth annual Band Bowl game in Athens this Saturday. Apparently we usually beat Tech, but there was a lack of interest this year. If anyone's in town this weekend, it should be fun.

Augusta National vs the UGAAA.

Senator Blutarsky compares the effort Augusta National puts into the fan experience vs Butts-Mehre. It's an excellent starting point for a discussion of how UGA can make the gameday experience better for the fans.

Mark Fox Given Two Year Contract Extension

McGarity re-upped the contract, extending it two more years through 2018. Personally, I could understand adopting a wait-and-see attitude, but the extension baffles me.

2048: Dawg Sports Edition

You've seen the game 2048, right? Well, you can customize it now, so on a lark I came up with a Dawg Sports version. If you make it all the way to the end, there's a special surprise. :-)

Women's Swimming Takes Back to Back Titles

Even if we can't win at basketball, we can at least get the back-to-back women's swimming national titles! Dawgs on Top!

Four football players arrested. What took so long?

Mark Richt has lost control of this recurring joke.. but seriously, this is must be a right of passage for UGA football off seasons

Georgia and Seton Hall schedule Home and Home hoops series

Seton Hall will play in Athens next season on December 21st, 2014, with us returning the favor and playing in New Jersey in 2015/16.

UGA Men's Tennis Downs #1 Ohio State, 4-3

Manny's boys knocked off #1 Ohio State last night in Athens in a marathon match. And I sat through all 5 1/2 hours of it. Attached video is team match point (at about 9:30 pm, after a 4pm start). Hernus Pieters (a great kid) serves up an ace for UGA (that was well in). The OSU kid calls it out (you can hear him say "no" on the video). Dawgs and fans erupt. Chair overrules. Pandemonium. Go Dawgs!

Robert Tyler: SEC Freshman of the Week

Things have been looking up for the Diamond Dawgs lately. Scott Stricklin's club has been hot as of late and its members have not gone unnoticed. Please join me in congratulating pitcher Robert Tyler on receiving SEC Freshman of the Week honors. Tyler racked up eight scoreless innings in a combined shutout of Georgia Tech last Tuesday. Tech hitters were 2-for-27 (.074) against Tyler, who only allowed two singles. He got the no decision, but holding Tech scoreless through eight is nothing to sneeze at. Congratulations, Robert!
