Game Day Open Comment Thread and Honorary Game Captain
It's an early afternoon kickoff in Athens, so I'll keep this brief, but I'd like to offer a word of thanks to the loyal readers of Dawg Sports not just for your presence, but for your participation.
The recent frequency with which new diaries have been posted is an encouraging sign that what goes on here is not a monologue, but a conversation. This site is moving in the direction of becoming the same sort of community Peter Bean and the rest of the Texas faithful have built at Burnt Orange Nation. This is a good thing and it is your doing. Keep up the good work.
(By the way, while I'm on the subject of Peter Bean, I should add that I didn't just pass a kidney stone. This has been a public service announcement.)
I'd like you to think of the game day open comment thread as the on-line forum for the sorts of observations you'd make if all of us were sitting around watching the game together in a sports bar. Bulldog Nation is a vast and varied place covering a wide expanse on the map, so we can't all be at the same place at the same time while the games are being played, but we can take part in a virtual exchange here and your contributions are most welcome.
Now, on to today's honorary game captain.
The Dawg Sports honorary captain for the Ole Miss game is Musa Smith. Against the Rebels in 2002, the Georgia running back set new career highs by carrying the ball 37 times for 148 yards in a 31-17 victory between the hedges to set up a showdown on the Plains one week later with the Eastern Division crown on the line.
Let's hope this afternoon's game goes as well as the Bulldogs' home date with Mississippi five years ago.
Go 'Dawgs!

I'll play
- Over. Dawgs play a soft zone and are focused on stopping the big plays. Ben Jarvus has a good day in a losing effort.
- Under. If a receiver has a TD it will be Sean Bailey or MoMa from somewhere inside the 15. Dawgs focus on time of possession, and throw just a few deep balls.
- Over. One ball, two backs, and Richt's love of Brown suggests under. But Knowshon breaks a long one and finishes with 104 yards on 14 carries.
- Under. Adams takes care of the ball, and the ballhawks will not be gambling today.
- Under. Dawgs keep the clock moving, and score 27.
- Over. A late field goal gives Ole Miss 20 for the day.
- Under. The 53,414th vessel pops when Chris Strong forgets to cover Brannon Southerland and the Dawgs get an easy TD to end the first half.
HDTV?
A friend of the family said she heard that if you have HD cable, then you can get the game; of course this is a 60 year-old woman that has the tech savvy of a Mongolian shepherd.

No Defense
Half time
Gotta stop that run on the right side.
Gotta keep pounding the ball on the ground and set up PAP. ==> we already are ahead of our game average rushing at the half.
Gotta improve on kickoff coverage and watch the long ball.
Revised: Moreno gets 100+ today.
Stop that run
Also seems like the Rebs are looking for that deep PAP.
Moreno/Brown FTW!
Munson
Munson is the best.
Final
Replay and CMR Show
Also, what time does the Mark Richt Show come on, on WSB?
