Tuesday Morning Dawg Bites
If your Monday was half as topsy-turvy as mine, I know you're a little behind the eight ball this a.m., so let me do what I can to get you caught up over your morning cup of coffee:
- The Diamond Dogs pulled out a win in the seventh game of the Athens Regional to improve to 45-20 and advance to the super-regional, a best-of-three series with South Carolina (40-23) to be hosted in Athens beginning on Saturday. You may look forward to some quality baseball this weekend . . . after all, they don't call it a mediocre-regional.
- Are you a Bulldog fan in a faraway land? If so, Paul Westerdawg wants to hear from you. While you're at it, drop me a quick note to let me know how great a distance you traversed on the world-wide web to arrive here at Dawg Sports, too.
Much like Agent Cooper, I'd really like to receive a long-distance communication from Tibet . . . although I'd prefer it if that communication was left in the comments below instead of delivered to me in a dream by a dwarf speaking backwards with subtitles.
- Recently, it was called into question whether Mark Richt would spend the rest of his coaching career at Georgia, which I maintain he will. Evidently, the Volunteer faithful, who likely would love to see Coach Richt leave the S.E.C. East, agree with me.
- I issued The Weblogging Disclosure Statement and then I modified it, but, unsurprisingly, Orson Swindle said it best:
That makes good sense to me.
- If it's the offseason and this is the S.E.C., it must be time to discuss out-of-conference scheduling. Nico has some ideas upon the subject.
- Finally, last but by no means least, the Normandy invasion (known as "D-Day") took place 62 years ago today. I know it's barely been a week since Memorial Day, but it wouldn't hurt to take a few minutes to remember the soldiers and sailors who fought and won the Second World War.
Go 'Dawgs!
