In case you didn't know (which you probably didn't), there's an amateur golf tournament coming up at Druid Hills Golf Club in downtown Atlanta. The Dogwood is one of the most prestigious amateur tournaments in the world, and there will be representatives from as far off as Argentina and Hong Kong, as well as collegiate athletes from schools like Oklahoma and Arizona. Of course, there will also be several UGA golfers playing -- six, in fact, the most of any university. Branson Davis, Parker Derby, Zachary Healy, Jack Larkin, Michael Morrison, and Greyson Sigg will all be representing the Red and Black during the week, and I'm sure you'll all join me in wishing them the best of luck.
The tournament is a four-round ordeal, much like any other tournament, except that it takes place Wednesday through Saturday, rather than Thursday through Sunday. There is a qualifier for club players from all around the metro Atlanta area on Monday, practice rounds on Tuesday under the guise of an Am-Am event, and the actual competition will start on Wednesday. I'll be doing my best to keep you guys updated on what's going on with a focus on our Georgia Boys, and you can find general coverage at the Dogwood Site.
