Multiple outlets are reporting Georgia rising senior F/C Tim Dixon is transferring. The seldom used, slender big man from Columus via the Oldsmar School in Florida was expected to compete for minutes with incoming freshmen Yante Maten and Osahen Iduwe next year alongside rising seniors Marcus Thornton and Nemi Djurisic.
This is does open up a spot for Mark Fox this spring. Wing Ahmed Hill was recently released from his letter of intent to Marquette, but his relationship with Buzz Williams may draw him back to the coach now at Virginia Tech. Effingham County F Jakeenan Gant may also be back on the market with Missouri coach Frank Haith reportedly going to Tulsa. There are several other recruits also available, in addition to a handful of transfer possibilities, this spring as coaches move around. The team could arguably use another big man to replace the departing Dixon, or add another perimeter option to the relatively depth chart thinner perimeter options. But it seems Fox will fill it this spring considering Dixon's spot would have been open for 2015 otherwise as he graduated. Then again, Fox may leave it open depending on his plans and how things are going with a strong recruiting crop from Georgia for next year.
