Georgia goes for its third win in a row and a season sweep when they travel to Bud Walton Arena to take on Arkansas.
The Bulldogs have won six of their last seven games and enter Saturday in third place in the SEC standings and two full games ahead of the Razorbacks and three other teams currently tied for fourth.
The Razorbacks are one of those teams but are one of the hottest teams in the conference not named Florida. Arkansas has won four straight including Thursday's 71-67 overtime win over Kentucky at Rupp Arena. Michael Qualls led the way for the Razorbacks with 14 points.
Georgia is also coming off of a big 71-56 win over Missouri on Tuesday to sweep the season series from the Tigers. Charles Mann did a little bit of everything finishing with 19 points, eight rebounds and four assists to lead the Bulldogs. Marcus Thornton tied a career-high with 15 points and also recorded three blocked shots.
Georgia won the first meeting at Stegeman Coliseum 66-61 in overtime behind a double-double from Marcus Thornton and 15 points from Kenny Gaines. They will have a couple of things working against them on Saturday. Arkansas is 15-2 on the season at home while the Bulldogs are just 3-9 on the road. The Bulldogs are just 3-7 all-time in Fayetteville.
Arkansas utilizes a balanced offensive attack led by Bobby Portis who averages 12.9 points per game. Coty Clarke led the Razorbacks in the first meeting with 13 while Portis was held to just six points.
Protecting the basketball will be key for the Bulldogs on Saturday who turned the ball over 19 times in the first meeting. Arkansas pressure defense combined with their home crowd is a tough hurdle for many opponents. Mark Fox's team has shown tremendous growth but their poise will be put to the test on Saturday.
