Georgia looks to bounce back from its most disappointing loss at home on Saturday when they hit the road to take on Auburn.
The Bulldogs come into Saturday's game struggling to find a rhythm offensively after a disheartening 59-55 home loss to Vanderbilt. Georgia shot just 27 percent from the field against the Commodores and at one point missed 17 consecutive attempts from three-point range.
Charles Mann shook out of his slump to lead the Bulldogs with 20 points. Brandon Morris was the only other Georgia player to finish in double figures with 12.
Part of the blame for Georgia's recent struggles offensively can be traced to the absence of Kenny Gaines who has missed the last two games with a thigh bruise. Gaines' status for Saturday's game is unknown but Mark Fox was hopeful on Friday that he could be back in the lineup. Freshman Juwan Parker replaced Gaines in the lineup on Wednesday and went scoreless while going 0-10 from the field.
After starting 4-1 in conference play Georgia has dropped two straight and is now in the middle of the pack of the SEC Standings. Georgia's had little success at Auburn of late winning just once in their last nine tries.
Auburn comes into the game with a 9-9 overall record but scored its first conference victory of the season on Thursday against Alabama. The Tigers have two of the leading scorers in the conference in Chris Denson and KT Harrell. Both are averaging more than 19 points a game. Denson scored a game-high 32 points in the win over Alabama while Harrell logged a double-double with 23 points and 11 rebounds.
