Mike Bobo is gone, Who is the next OC for Georgia?

By now we've all heard the news, Mike Bobo is now the Head Coach for Colorado State. He leaves behind some of the best recruits we've had in years, and an offense that set records at Georgia in recent years. His accomplishments with the injuries in 2013 and the lack of receiver depth and QB play in 2014 were impressive. Now the question we all ask: who will be the next offensive coordinator at Georgia? Here are some potential coaches to take over.

Bill Legg (Marshall) - Bill Legg's offense in 2014 led the nation in total yards with 563 yards per game. He was a 4 year starter at center at West Virginia for Hall of Fame coach Don Nehlen. He coached offensive line from 1989-93 at Eastern Illinois. Offensive line coach at West Virginia 1995-2000. Offensive line coach at Purdue 2003-2005. Offensive coordinator at Florida International from 2008-2010. Offensive Coordinator at Marshall 2010 to now. In 2012 Marshall led the nation in passing offense with 365 yards per game. They were 2nd in 3rd down conversions at 59.59%. He has quite the resume for a potential offensive coordinator in my opinion.

Jake Spavital (Texas A&M) - Was a player at Missouri State. Started coaching career as a quality control assistant in 2008 under Gus Malzahn. He spent 1 year at Huston under Kevin Sumlin and offensive coordinator Dana Holgorsen. He followed Holgorsen to Oklahoma State in 2010. He was part of an Oklahoma State team that went 11-2 and worked closely with QB Brandon Weeden who was 3rd in the nation in total yards and 6th in touchdowns. Spavital followed Holgorsen to West Virginia and was the QB's coach and coached Geno Smith who set records for West Virginia and the NCAA. He is now offensive coordinator at Texas A&M and served as QB's coach for Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel in 2012. Texas A&M put up 449 yards per game this season.

Josh Heupel (Oklahoma) - Heupel played quarterback at Oklahoma and led the Sooners to the 2000 BCS National Championship game. He became a graduate assistant at Oklahoma in 2004. He coached tight ends at Arizona sometime between 2004-2005 seasons. He became the QB's coach at Oklahoma in 2005 and coached Heisman Trophy winner Sam Bradford. He is currently the offensive coordinator at Oklahoma who finished 24th in total offense this season with 481 yards per game.

Mike Sanford (Boise State) - Mike Sanford played quarterback at Boise State 2000-2004. His first coaching job was at Yale in 2009 where he coached tight ends and fullbacks and worked as the teams recruiting coordinator. In 2010 he coached at Western Kentucky as the QB's coach and passing game coordinator. From 2011-2013 he coached running backs at Stanford who made a Fiesta Bowl appearance in 2011 and finished 18 nationally in rushing with 210 yards per game. Stanford won back to back Pac-12 titles the next 2 seasons and made back to back Rose Bowl appearances. This season he was the offensive coordinator at Boise State who finished 6th in total offense with 496 yards per game.

David Greene (Georgia) - David Greene was the QB for our Georgia Bulldogs from 2001-2004 where he finished as the winningest QB in Division 1 history with 42 wins in 4 years. He also left as the SEC's all time leader in yards with 11,270 a record later broken by Aaron Murray. He was the SEC freshman of the year in 2001, 2002 SECCG MVP, 2002 SEC 1st team, 2003 SEC 2nd team, 2004 SEC 2nd team, and 2004 Citrus Bowl MVP. He knows the offense and since I am a Disney Dawg I put this here just for fun. Hey it could work right?

No matter who the next OC is at Georgia it is my opinion it must be a perfect hire. Our offense cannot take a step back next season if we want to accomplish our goals of a SEC Championship or a National Title. This must work and it must work for the long run. I am looking forward to a great hire from our staff and watching a great offense on the field next season. Until then.... Go Dawgs

I apologize for any spelling errors, I typed this up after midnight so I missed a lot of stuff. I've been correcting as I go thanks for understanding.
