2013 Georgia football recruiting: JUCO DBs Kennar Johnson and Shaq Fluker

Signing day was Wednesday, but that doesn't mean we still can't get excited and watch some future Dawgs in action. After all, we've got over 200 days between now and kickoff in Clemson (204 to be exact). What else are we gonna talk about?

A look at Georgia's 2013 recruiting class early enrollees: RB Brendan Douglas

Georgia got the RB prospect from Aquinas in Augusta to flip over from a Georgia Tech commitment in the past week, and we should all be happy about not having to face this 6', 220 or so pounder. Just watch him break a tackle and go in this first clip from his junior season.

Expected to play FB, Douglas shows the speed and power to play TB considering the depth issues that we have at the position. He isn't likely to beat out Gurley or Marshall for the job, but he can more than fill the grinder role left vacant by a graduating Richard Samuel and transferring Ken Malcome.

Xander Ogletree is also expected to no longer be with the Bulldogs, and that is what the spot many believe Douglas was targeted to fill. Unlike last year's FB signee, Quayvon Hicks, Douglas is much smaller. He's got power in his frame, but to be a battering ram FB, he'll need to add considerable weight. A rusher primarily in high school, his blocking technique also needs work. Douglas will remind a lot of former FBs Brennan Southerland and Shaun Chapas. His agility and ability with the ball in his hands make him an ideal threat on pass plays out of the backfield.

He may redshirt, to continue adding weight, but with the need in the backfield, I'd suspect he plays right away in a limited role. He'll also be of value in coverage teams. After a year, he should be more than ready to compete with Hicks and walk-on Merritt Hall for FB reps, but for right now, he's a good depth as a freshman and likely little more. As good as he looks, it's made even better knowing we won't be lining up against him as the Yellow Jacket B Back.

A look at Georgia's 2013 recruiting class early enrollees: OLB Leonard Floyd

Floyd, who was teammates with John Atkins at Hargrave last season, will have to spend the full year at the Virginia military academy getting his academics in order. But the 6'6 athlete could see the field in a big way next season.

Finding video on the former Dodge County standout isn't easy, but there's bits and pieces floating around (none linkable unfortunately). What you see on film though is a big, athletic player with loads of skill. Expected to play OLB, Floyd played both ways in high school, and was seen by some as a possible TE. His athleticism and hands are that good.

But his best attributes are getting after the QB. Floyd needs to put on a little weight, but don't be surprised if he competes for the OLB job vacated by Jarvis Jones opposite Jordan Jenkins. His technique obviously is an area for improvement, but the physical tools are something you just can't teach. After a year at Hargrave facing future major conference OL every day in practice, he should be ready to step in and provide depth. As the year goes on, he should see his role gradually increase, similar to what we saw out of Jenkins last year.

A look at Georgia's 2013 recruiting class early enrollees: OL Brandon Kublanow

OG Brandon Kublanow is widely considered one of the best interior lineman in Georgia this year. At around 6'3, 300 pounds, the player is physical and mean, which is exactly what you want in your OL. He was also athletic enough to play DT for Walton High School, which is a great sign for mobility. You can watch his junior highlight reel below.

Kublanow, like all OL, could benefit from a redshirt season. With Georgia returning all OL from last year, he just might get that luxury. In years past, that wouldn't be the case, especially with a kid as talented as the Red Menace.

Already an adept run blocker, Kublanow has the power, and the drive to push defenders off the ball. He also is solid taking on LBs at the next level. His footwork could use some improvement, as could his consistency in staying low. Pass protection is also something he'll get to fine tune while hopefully redshirting. But this kid could work his way into the rotation this year, and will be looking to replace Lee or Burnette at one of the G spots next year.
