College football goes on even when there's no action involving the Classic City Canines, and this Saturday is no exception to that rule. You can see the full college football TV schedule here, and the afternoon and evening each feature some really interesting contests. Admittedly, however, the early slate is pretty bland, featuring such epic battles as Georgia Tech vs. Virginia (or as I like to call it, the "Does Brooks Brothers Make Pocket Protectors? Bowl").
The SEC Network has Vanderbilt coming off a big home win and traveling to Texas A&M in a game which I believe will, unfortunately, make our loss to the Commodores look just that much worse. Wake Forest travels to #7 Miami for a game televised on ESPNU, which is great, because I have trouble imagining any of the Wake Forest grads I know actually walking the streets of Miami. Nebraska travels to Minnesota for a game televised on ESPN and which, I have to be honest, I have no idea why I'd watch. And #20 Louisville will be on ESPN2 and on upset alert against South Florida. Okay, if USF is winning this one then I'm Brendan Fraser's "hold a gun and look stupid" double. But I have to try to gin up some enthusiasm, right?
Everybody have a great day, play nice, respect your elders, don't go swimming for at least 30 minutes after eating, refrain from standing naked near any fishing lures, and . . . .
