I'll be doing one fanpost a week, each as a simulation for UGA's upcoming game for that week. The first one is Buffalo, and it wasn't pretty. First to note: To balance out the difference between real-life and videogame-play, I play 10-minute quarters, with a difficulty level of All-American. The difficulty levels are as follows: Varsity, Veteran, All-American, Heisman.
I won the toss, and deferred to the second half. Marshall Morgan kicked it right into the endzone to start it off, and there we were. College football. It began. The first defensive series was smooth, with Buffalo punting after 3 and out on a drive of -2 yards. However, the punt was to Branden Smith, the fastest man on the planet (or however good a 95 speed rating is). A few good blocks, and a run to the right led to the game's first score of the night, as Branden Smith made it 60 yards to the endzone, and so also came Marshall Morgan's first extra point attempt of the year, which was perfect down the middle, making it 7-0 UGA.
Buffalo however pulled out some guns and runs, as they marched down the field from the 25-yard line to score on a 10 play, 75 yard drive, which made it 7-7. The next drive for the Dawgs did not go so well, as I planned. On the second play, Murray threw a pick-6, and with 6:32 to go in the 1st quarter, it was 14-7 in favor of the shabby fools from New York. To that point, Ken Malcome was freshy-fresh and obviously took his Brass Monkey that day, going for 23 yards on 5 carries.
Time to break out the hamma. I buckled down since then, with Murray going a total 9-13 with 96 yards for the half, Ken Malcome with 16 rushes for 73 yards. The defense whipped out some hobnails and drove them down Buffalo's throats, with Jarvis Jones and Abry Jones each a sack, the former with 2 additional TFLs. That half, I held Buffalo to 14 yards rushing on 12 carries, and their QB just 6-11 that half with 44 yards. The score by the end of the half -- Buffalo 14, UGA 21.
The second half was mere child's play, as Buffalo only scored a field goal, and UGA 2 more touchdowns. The FINAL score -- Buffalo 17, UGA 35.
Aaron Murray: 20-32 // 298 yards // 3 TD // 4 INT
Ken Malcome: 20 rushes // 102 yards // 1 TD
Tavarres King: 7 REC // 88 yards
UGA rushing: 35 rushes // 179 yards // 5.11 YPC
Jarvis Jones: 1 sack // 4 TFL
Abry Jones: 2 sacks
Michael Gilliard: 1 sack // 2 TFL // 1 INT
Branden Smith: 60-yard punt return for TD
UGA Total Yards: 522
Buffalo Total Yards: 224
