Im calling the Vandy/SC game tomorrow. RT @macmcglasson oh man... I just realized how much of a SEC east bias you have.— David Pollack(@davidpollack47) August 30, 2012
"Russ" has served as the interim mascot on and off for the past few years. Now he will become Uga IX. He'll be crowned on Sept. 15.— Seth Emerson (@SethEmerson) August 30, 2012
ESPN never shows Georgia any Love.. I'm really starting to believe they hate us.— Brandon Boykin(@BrandonBoykin2) August 30, 2012
HELL DAMN ASS YEAH FOOTBALL!— T. Kyle King (@dawgsports) August 30, 2012
Football is finally upon us, and not some piddling ACC weeknight snooze-fest, either. Tonight, my friends, we have genuine Southeastern Conference college football pitting two Eastern Division foes of whom the nicest thing I can think to say is that they aren’t the Florida Gators.
This is your Thursday night season kickoff game night open comment thread, Bulldog Nation. Join in the conversation with your fellow Georgia Bulldogs fans as you watch the game, and, while we’re waiting for the slugfest to start, let us know which way you’re rooting.
Does disdain for James Franklin cause you to hope the Vanderbilt Commodores lose? Does contempt for Steve Spurrier lead you to root for the South Carolina Gamecocks to fall? Do you hope the Garnet and Black start out 0-1 for the strictly businesslike reason that it gives the Red and Black an early lead in the division race? Do you passionately wish for a meteor to strike at midfield during the postgame handshake so there will be two fewer SOBs in the SEC coaching ranks? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
While you’re at it, feel free to discuss this weekend’s upcoming games (including the all-important showdown between the Georgia Bulldogs and the Buffalo Bulls), the promotion of Russ to Uga IX (about which we should have a posting up shortly after tonight’s SEC game ends), and any other suitable question that strikes your fancy, such as: "When members of the women’s equestrian team have to go to the bathroom, do they say, ‘I have to see a horse about a man’?"
This thread will remain above the fold throughout the duration of the South Carolina-Vanderbilt contest, after which the thread will remain open for further discussion, but the posting itself will be moved from the front page back to the sidebar. Talk amongst yourselves; I’ve given you a topic.
