Ed. Note: This is our daily Euro 2012 Group Stage Open Thread. Games take place daily at noon and 2:45 Eastern, and are all on ESPN or ESPN2.
Kickoff for the world's 2nd largest "football" tournament takes place today in the opening of EURO 2012. The group stage will last 12 days, and while each day may not warrant an individual thread given that many people will be at work during the games, I figure we could have an ongoing thread for the group stages for general discussion and updates (for the people at work) as the tournament unfolds. There will likely be some laughs as well as the EURO tournament now has some work to do to one up the NBA so soccer/football can reclaim it's title as sport with the most floppers. If you have no rooting interests, Vineyarddawg's excellent post comparing the EURO teams to SEC teams can be found here.
