Hey, there's another soccer match tonight, y'all! To be sure, this match is receiving far less media coverage than the U.S' poor Wednesday showing against Brazil. In many ways, however, this match is far more important.
Tonight's match will show us how the USMNT will rebound after a decidedly poor showing against Brazil, and will provide a greater insight into how we might fare against some of the other CONCACAF teams we will be seeing in the coming weeks and months as part of the World Cup Qualifying process.
Tonight is the final tune-up match before Friday's opening World Cup Qualifying match against Antigua and Barbuda. The USA is ranked 29th in the world (only behind Mexico at 20). Canada is ranked 75th, behind 8 other CONCACAF teams. The USA should win. They don't play these games on paper, though... so let's see if the USMNT can pull this one through on enemy soil in Toronto!
Tonight's coverage starts at 7:00 PM on the NBC Sports network. (Channel 603 on DirecTV... check your local cable listings for the channel on cable.)
Go Dawgs... and Go Yanks!
