The Bulldog Nation lost a DGD this morning.

I don't know if it has been noted here but the University of Georgia reports this:

We lost an all-time great Bulldog this morning. Fred Birchmore ('32, '34) is dead at the age of 100. In the storied history of UGA, Fred played a big part. From his days on campus in the boxing club or climbing the stairs of Sanford Stadium on his hands to his record-setting globe-trekking bicycling adventures and constructed-by-hand "Great Wall" at his home in Athens, his unique energy and drive are the envy of us all. Thank you, Fred, for representing the university with excellence - you will be missed.

Condolences to the family and the Dawg Nation.
