The St. Patrick's Day/NCAA Tourney Open Comment Thread.

First, the PG-13 rated theme music for those of you who had Duke and Missouri in the Final Four:

Welcome to the open comment thread for the day we Irish-Americans celebrate our ancestors' proclivity for written language consisting entirely of acutes and graves, spoken language consisting entirely of slurred throat clearing, and a tendency to speak and write excessively about drinking excessively. Say what you will about whether the Irish actually saved civilization, but our culture is not without a certain charming internal consistency.

It's also the open comment thread for what's left of your NCAA tournament bracket after the opening round games (which tournament officials can call the second round all they want, but whatever). Today's slate of games is about as compelling as we've seen in recent years including a 12:15 contest between 8th seeded Kansas State and #1 seeded Syracuse on CBS, this evening's 6:10 tipoff between 5th seeded Vandy and 4th seeded Wisconsin on TNT, and a 9:40 nightcap between 5th seed New Mexico and 4th seed Louisville on TBS. Those are just 3 of the 8 contests on the docket for the day. So kick back, relax, and join your fellows in a spring day full of green beer and good basketball. Until later . . .

Go 'Dawgs!!!
