Cooler heads prevailed...
I can understand if his grandfather wanted him to go elsewhere, for I’m sure it happens all the time.
But I’m glad he didn’t make this story last longer than a day.
Welcome to Dawg Nation, Josh!
GATA!
GATA!
JHC apparently finally told his grandfather:

Am I supposed to hear Tracy Morgan's voice when I read that pic's text?
Because I do.

14:58 .... 14:59... 15:00.
That’s the end of your 15 minutes, sir.
Witty phrase.

Now AJC reporting that thUGA's gonna thug.
UGA will be reporting the secondary violation related to Mark Richt giving an interview and mentioning JHC after he announced but before his LOI was officially received.
Friggin’ NCAA. I’m surprised they didn’t suspend Mark Richt for 4 games.

I think we should voluntarily sanction ourselves by suspending Mike Bobo for four games.
That would show appropriate contrition, I think.

Actually, I heard ...
McGarity is in Birmingham right now engineering a trade so that South Carolina will go to the Western Division in exchange for Ole Miss but only for the duration of Lattimore’s eligibility.

We can't just force them to give us Lattimore?
Trade Lattimore and Clowney for Rueben Faloughi and Carlton Thomas

I think we should sanction DawgSports
by not allowing any AJC linked articles for 12 months. That should show we are serious about secondary violations being blown up into headlines
I HATE ORANGE, and DGNBs

Informally - we actually try not to use them as a staff as much as possible. Upon occasion, like this morning, it was the first source.
Seems when it comes to news that harms the reputation of UGA
they are very frequently the first source.
I HATE ORANGE, and DGNBs
But in most cases toad,...
we can wait 10 minutes or so, and the Banner-Herald, or Seth Emerson, etc will have it too.

Looking at the rankings
The three sites all have Bama with 26 commits who signed LOIs. Would any of the more knowledgeable recruiting analysts care to say how they’re getting around the 25 limit? My understanding was they had no room for early enrollees. I’m guessing one of them is getting gray shirted, but I really don’t know.
The 984 Has Spoken!
Lots of rumors
About two scholarships being freed up by dismissals.
Anybody heard?

Some days, it seems like there isn't enough coffee.
Some nights, it seems like there isn't enough vodka.
I put zero stock in rumors.
When it’s confirmed and reported by a legitimate news outlet, I’ll start rending my garments and getting out the sackcloth and ashes. Until then, I’m just humming merrily along. :-)

Word on the Falcons board
is that Sanford Seay and another freshman (a cb or safety) were kicked off the team for theft, but I, of course, offer that info with the caveat that I have yet to see an official report from a news source stating that as fact.
That would most certainly come with an announcement within a day if true. So, we will see by tomorrow eve.
And why are you reading Falcons’ boards? :)
Because this Falcons board has the best recruiting info I've come across.
I found them a year or so ago when I went looking for signing day info, and I go there whenever I want up-to-date info. If something’s happening, they usually know first. FWIW, they’re saying their sources are naming Nick Marshall as the other player dismissed. Of course, I think he got it from Buck Belue’s Twitter feed, which does not have a solid record for factual reporting.

There have been rumors circulating all day, . . .
. . . but we haven’t posted anything about it here because, at this point, they’re just that: rumors. Without anything substantive, we don’t feel comfortable reporting it.
It’s perfectly appropriate that you asked the question, of course, because we’re all aware of the scuttlebutt, but, as a staff, those of us on the site masthead try to make sure we’re able to source responsibly any news reporting we do. We haven’t been able to do that regarding this story, which is why we haven’t raised the subject publicly.
So, yeah, we’ve heard it, but, no, we can’t confirm it, so we’re waiting and seeing.

Got it.
680 the Fan reported Nick Marshall and Seay are off the team, but I guess it’s not official yet.
Where there’s smoke, there’s usually fire.
SMH.
GATA!
Thing is, where are they getting this from, because there hasnt been one official word - yet.
I’m fairly certain an official statement will be given by the end of the day if there is any truth.
Obviously, you were right, Jman781, . . .
. . . but, as tankertoad noted, our preference is always for certainty over swiftness. I’d rather be a little late reporting on verified facts than very wrong reporting on rumors that turn out to be false (as they didn’t in this case, but as they sometimes do).
