The Enemy Of My Enemy...

"The enemy of my enemy is my friend" so the saying goes. Someone made the comment to us Husker fans "Anyone that hates Florida is cool with me."

With that in mind, Dawgs fans, take a trip with me in the Way-Back machine to the 1996 Fiesta Bowl. #1 Nebraska vs. #2 Florida. Steve Spurrier vs. Dr. Tom Osborne.

Pre-game analysis from the so-called "experts." Note ESPN's awkward fascination with grass.

Gator: It's what's for dinner. Enjoy the meal.

FIRST HALF --The second quarter is when the real fun starts.

SECOND HALF -- It was relentless and bloody...

EPILOGUE: I went to see Larry The Cable Guy perform at Nebraska's Memorial Stadium in July 2009. His warm-up act told a story about he and Larry performing a couple of years earlier in Gainseville, Fla. at the Gator Growl. 50,000 people were there. When Larry hit the stage, the first words out of his mouth were "Have y'all caught Tommie Frazier yet?"

See you in Orlando.
