I said I wasn't going to post something every day, but I--appropriately, since we are playing Auburn this weekend--lied. To be more precise, I underestimated the hate for Auburn that the Dawg Sports community would be able to inspire in me. I'm not sure what all I will do this week, but there will be one more Blake (the companion piece to this one), some Whitman, and then...who knows? This first piece is part of Whitman's "Songs of Innocence," which is certainly an appropriate label here, right? Auburn and Cam are innocent and we are all just a bunch of jealous h8rz who will never understand the glorious Abuurn traditions of lying and cheating. With apologies to William Blake:
Li'l Cam, who paid thee?
Dost thou know who paid thee?
Gave Dad cash and for thee bid
then sins and ‘niquities well hid.
Two years later, a recruit
received some forbidden fruit.
Clothing of orange and blue;
large, expensive arm tattoo...
Li'l Cam, who paid him?
Dost thou know who paid him?
If I knew, I'd tell thee;
if I knew, I'd tell thee.
He is called a bag man;
he wilt hand out da swag, man.
He is rogue; he is wild;
nowhere art his records filed.
As a Bulldog and a fan,
I think Auburn shouldst be banned.
Li'l Cam just barely
nauseates me less than Fairley.
