November 30, 1991. Grant field.

Here's my story. As a member of the Redcoats, before halftime we were on the asto-turf waiting for the final minutes of the half to close. My roommate and I were directly behind the big Buzz blow up bee thing at the back of the end zone. Standing there, waiting, knowing this would be my last trip to this horrid place, kind of taking it in, I noticed that right next to me was the extension cord providing power to the air pump that kept that bee inflated.

So, being the college student and therefore fully immersed in all things red and black, I thought it would be wise to just unplug that stupid bee. So, we watched, my roommate scouted, and I pulled the plug. In seconds the bee was flat and we were just kind of standing there like we were oblivious to the whole thing.

I never looked back so I don't know how long it remained flat. You see, we were smart enough to pay it no attention so as to remain un involved.

That's my story, my wife also (girlfriend then) broke her nose with her flagpole that day, she was one of the flag line girls. It was a good day, proud to have contributed to the "hate"!
