I'm already really frustrated with all this BCS talk.

I read Stewart Mandel stuff, used to like his writing, he's changed a bit over the last 18 months though and now I just get angry when I read his narrative. The latest mailbag has put me over the edge.

Why don't people get it? The big topic now is a giant "What if?". (When I was a school teacher I demanded that ANY question or statement beginning with the words "what if" be stricken from the record. No questions with those two words were allowed in my classroom.)

When there are more than 2 teams undefeated at the end of the season the BCS championship is meaningless. Devalued, watered down, subjective, meaningless, etc..... It all comes down to opinion. Why get all wrapped up in it? What's the big worry? Do we really need to fret over it? Focus on conference championships and let it go. If Oregon, ND, Alabama remain undefeated then that's great. They all have had remarkable seasons and just leave it at that. We don't need to try an figure out who is the single best team and call them "national champions" because they're not.
