Hate Week 2012: Picking Up the Pieces

First of all, thanks to all at Dawg Sports for a productive Hate Week. I can't help but think that the negative vibes created on this site made their way to the Florida bench somehow. What a surprisingly fantastic way to cap it all off!

Although Hate Week has officially concluded, there's still a lot of work to be done before I'm ready to call this season a success. Our Dawgs are now faced with the monumental task of overcoming their jubilation from Saturday's historic, Gator-crushing victory and focusing on Saturday's opponent: the Ole Miss Rebears.

Ole Miss is having a good year (especially by their standards) and seems to be making serious progress on the offensive side of the ball. Heck, this team led mighty Alabama at one point earlier this season.

Since everyone in Bulldog Nation is demanding that the boys take Ole Miss seriously this week, I suggest we all do the same here at Dawg Sports. I respect what Coach Freeze has done with this program in his first year and expect them to one day make some noise in the top-heavy SEC West. I also fear that his team will be as opportunistic as the Dawgs allow them to be in the game on Saturday.

Let's face it: talent wise, Ole Miss doesn't have the bears to hang with Georgia, but this is the SEC, where anything can happen. The Dawgs did, after all, need to capitalize on a late-game onside kick attempt by lowly Kentucky to beat the 1-8 Wildcats on October 20. The Dawgs need to stay focused with their eyes on the prize just as we at Dawg Sports need to focus on nothing but the Rebears till Sunday, November 4.

Then we can prepare for what I hope will be Hate Week 2 because I really hate Auburn.
