The good news is they didn't lose this weekend because they didn't play. How could they have been so unprepared against SC? As has been the case the last several years they might get to the Outback Bowl or something like the Peach Bowl (yes I know there was the Sugar with Stafford and AJ and SEC championships early in Richt's tenure). Reality is we're a second class citizen in the SEC, even when we win the SEC East. Yet Richt gets paid like he's Nick Saban. He probably makes more $ than Spurrier. Richt and his staff are the best recruiters in the world. And yet, we are not even close to Bama, LSU, and now SC. Aaron Murray is no better now than he was when he was a senior at Plant High in Tampa. We have a big coaching problem (Bobo is awful and Grantham is not much better). How can a defense with so many returning superstars go from 5th best in the country to 55th? Ray Goff was a great quarterback and as UGA's head coach he was a great recruiter. But that's where it stopped with him--he couldn't coach them to be great as a TEAM. Not really different now (except that Richt gets paid a lot more)--lots of individual superstars, but as a team they don't have the fire in the belly or the discipline required to be great.
