Helluva Damn Good Dawg
He mad so many big plays.
Kickoff return TD vs. Carolina in 09 (in which we only won by 4)
Kickoff return TD vs. Tenn in 09 (terribly game to remember otherwise obviously)
Hope the Falcons find a way to get him.

After I relistened to the podcast, I kept thinking about Boykin's last game.
A safety, a punt return TD, a pass TD, and I think 6 tackles. The only thing I guess he didnt have was an INT.
It was the single best performance I remember in my life outside of perhaps Herschel. It’s what I would like to see all of our guys aspire too. It showed so much grit, leadership, focus, determination. When we can get a team of guys like that – just like the 1980 squad talks about in the post from davethedawg, with all the raw talent, wow.

He intercepted a pass in OT
that gave us the opportunity to win, didn’t he? Or am I misremembering that game because I’m still suffering from Bobo trauma?

Nope, believe that was Williams.
Boykin did have 6 tackles and one assist. I dont think he had a chance to get an INT because Cousins couldnt throw his way as he had his man covered so well.

Anyone have an idea of where he is projected to go in the draft?
I would love to see him in Carolina considering their needs in the secondary and on special teams.

I've read 2nd -3rd
which sounds about right.
He’s been my favorite player since DJ in 2005. Why we spent two years trying to get Branden Smith the ball on offense, instead of him, is something I’ll never understand.

it goes in the same"what were they thinking" categorory
as Veron Haynes and Knowshon Moreno. From the start of this season it was clear Boykin was our best (or perhaps most reliable) carrier of the ball. It made no sense not to play Smith more at corner and transition Boykin to TB when we were so desperate.
Boykin definitely is in my top 25 DGD list (going back to 1978). I especially admire the way he quietly went about his business……

Or the last two years...
on kick returns, he had speed, he had power, he had hands. He was the threat with the ball that we all saw he could be on a larger scale this year.

Boykin
elected to stay for his senior season, always played full-speed and has carried himself most professionally admirably while at Georgia. Truly, a DGD in every sense of the term.
I think he’ll do great things in The League.

Ridgeway RB Sheldon Dawson is one of the more impressive all-around athletes to come out of the Bluff City this year. It makes me happy to see his high school coach comparing him to DGD Boykin.
Memphis needs more Dawgs.
