Bad taste to end 2011, but let’s kick some pillowy-soft schedule ass in 2012.

Editor, Dawg Sports.
Go Dawgs!
I am not mad
just dis-heartened. it saddens me to see such good football talent, under-coached then under-perform. The University owes more to the kids they bring into play and the fans that support the program than what is currently being done. Bobo needs not to be to OC, make room for him as an assistant or let him excel in another venue. Grantham needs to be locked up in a heartbeat. We have seen how magical our teams can be on occasion and I am just disappointed that our coaching staff cannot put a team on the field that can play a full football game
I HATE ORANGE, and DGNBs
I just think that had we won that game, Richt would had more incentive to keep Bobo for 2012
Just saying
no way....
Richt fires Bobo. If he couldn’t get rid of Willie there is no way he can get rid of Bobo.

Richt ain't getting rid of Bobo... not happening
If he didn’t after a 6 win season he won’t after a 10 win season.
If he does, I’ll eat my hat… And I’ll do it with a big ass grin on my face.

"I know I'm asking a lot, you guys, but hunker it down one more time!"
Yup, my hat of choice would be that thing that Russell Crowe wore in Gladiator because there's
a 0% chance that Bobo isn’t walking the sidelines next year.
the scariest part is
the fact that Grantham may says “screw it” and take his game elsewhere. You could hardly blame him. (I think the only reason he would stay is the fact that he has such a strong group coming back)
"Progress is impossible without change, and those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything." George Bernard Shaw
CTG leaving is a doomsday scenario but you nail it. With Jones and the crew coming back,
he can set himself up very nicely with an improved D next year (which hopefully will be scarier and even better conditioned to bring the pain).
i just dont know
whether this loss will so piss him off that he will start entertaining offers. He has got to see the head coaching blunders as well. Taking a knee on 2nd down to kick a 42 yard field goal is just craziness. That coupled with our offensive strategy when he had a chance to win the game is troubling.

It's how we lost that

The players deserve better……………………..
What are the odds GM forces CMR to rethink the offensive staff?
the odds are none and you know it.
It would be nice of Aaron Murray could get through a game without a pick-6, however.
I think he has been hurt, and I hope he is immobile for 3-5 months to fully heal.

I dont care how many pts you score. Or how many yards.
If it comes off of big plays, without the ability to grind yards and move chains, it’s going to cost you against a quality team. It’s really that simple. We can’t “go conservative” if we can’t move chains. Otherwise, you get what happened in Atlanta and today against MSU.

Has there ever been a bigger vote of No Confidence in an Offense
Than what we saw in the first overtime? For that reason alone changes should be made.
How embarrassing to start prepping for the kick on SECOND freaking DOWN.
If they don’t think they can score score a touchdown from the 25 what business do they have even accepting a bowl invitation?
So saddened by what I saw. Cowards.
The thing is, the difference between 42 and 37 is huge. We couldnt, and didnt even try, to get 5-10 yards.

I can't think of anything I have ever seen Georgia do in a game that upset me more.
It’s a team game and BW’s teammates didn’t help put him in a position to succeed.Of course. it was foreshadowed by taking a knee at the end of the game.
Also, its unfortunate, but what you and I see as an obvious vote of no confidence in the offense will
be chalked up by CMR & company to the “Great” defense at MSU.
Never should have been in that position to begin with
one first down in regulation from avoiding the opportunity to blow it in over-time.
I HATE ORANGE, and DGNBs
Yep. And there too, 3rd and 8 and we run it up the middle.
Why…because Murray might throw yet another pick-6?
I'll say it here, too.
Don’t let the door hit you on the way out, Walsh.
It’s not Walsh’s fault we lost, for he’s been terrible all season. He is what we thought he was.
Murray, on the other hand, is the reason we lost. He can’t beat good teams. When was the last big game he had without multiple turnovers? What a joke? He’s too mistake-prone to ever win consistently—the Romo of the SEC.
I’d like any other QB to get a shot next season, but, alas, he’ll be QB by default, like Walsh at kicker.
GATA!

Isn't that supposed
to be his strength? He can’t even do that right.
All Murray had to do was not screw up, and he failed. Miserably.

"They" say it's his strength, however,
David G and CMR were attached at the hip. Stafford was uncoachable. Now we need a QB coach, and it isnt working.

But it is
his fault why we didn’t win. He should’ve knocked that first OT kick through. Punched it up there with no conviction at all.

If we're relying on a kicker to win the game in OT with a 42 yard FG
The loss can’t be blamed on him missing. Too many other factors came into play setting him up for a G.O.A.T. or Goat situation.

I agree. If you are down to praying for a 42 yarder, you already screwed up on O, bad.

As a preface...
let me just say that I’m pissed, and I came of age during the 90s while watching some very frustrating and pathetic UGA teams. Please keep this in mind before breaking out the ban-hammer.
Sic 'em Dawgs
I don't think any ban-hammers are coming out...
… for anything other than very egregious misbehavior.
I warned Chopmaster in the other thread, but he has a history, and was starting a path I didn’t want him to keep going down.
This is a venting thread… venting is expected.
Editor, Dawg Sports.
Go Dawgs!
I know Chop is a troll most times, but he's totally right in this case. This is going to be "Classic" Georgia as long
as CMB is our offensive coordinator. His flaws are covered sometimes by great players (Stafford, Moreno, Green, Mitchell, etc.) but he’s holding us back from ever moving forward. So shouldn’t we continue to have the discussion about eliminating his involvement at the program?
It is surely very obvious, a texbook example even, of how one coaching staff made something out of nothing
and the other made less than nothing out of nothing.
I think there will be a short "non ban" waiver.

If this team, including the coaches, cared as much about the bowl as breaking curfews, I would feel better about the loss.
But the goofing off and enjoying Tampa Bay a little too much, it makes me feel like they dont care that much.

And Big John going out before MSU’s last drive really hurt.

I have the same feeling I had in the SEC Championship! No Adjustments. . .WHY??? 3 straight run plays to start the second half, feels like we have learned nothing from our past. FIRED MIKE DODO!!!
three of four losses were to top ranked defenses
"I know I'm asking a lot, you guys, but hunker it down one more time!"
So what? We want to be a top 10 team, then we have to beat those teams. And, we played well for parts of those games.
So it’s the beating your head against the wall with stupid crap like running into 9 men fronts and never playing away from a defense’s strengths that kill me.
I agree completely-just pointing out that our competition is really good
and we just are not yet
"I know I'm asking a lot, you guys, but hunker it down one more time!"
taking a knee on 2nd down and losing a yard has nothing to do with the competition.
Running a horrible RB off an injury up the gut has nothing to do with te competition.

I'm confident that the defense could shut down top offenses.
And just as confident that the offense will disappear against decent (or better) defenses.
The O just isn’t held to the same standard. We want to be the best team, right? We have a top 3 defense. The offense needs to step up. That staff has had 6 years. The D has had 2 (with 2 different ILB coaches) and is top 3.

This game was it
It was the perfect picture of all things that are maddening about supporting this team. I hardly have the motivation to write this post because that is how this team leaves you, completely spent and lacking the will to wipe the spittle from drooling down your chin as you drift off into a vegetable state.
Cannot just lose. No, we have to our guts ripped out and pulled some 15 yards out in front of us as Blue Duck’s wolf pups feast on our entrails. I am fully and completely on board with getting someone of the right caliber in here to run the O. That someone is NOT Bobo. He is completely and consistently outclassed. If you are Orson Charles, would you stay after today?

When Jon Jenkins
hauled in that pick, Bobo needed to call the game as if the game itself were on the line. He failed miserably, basically sticking to the same flawed “RSIV” up the middle crap that gave the other team a shot in which they capitalized.
But once again, this game should have never gotten to this point. Again, we gave them a gift pick-6 that followed another interception that changed the entire complexion of the game.
Hats off to Michigan State, but they didn’t beat us as much as we beat ourselves. Again.

I think where we really blew it was in not getting a TD after the Williams INT.
—though there were clearly several more opportunities to blow it that came later, and we were sure to take advantage of ALL of them.
When we were up 16-0 and driving
I posted something to the effect that another score could ice this game. And with the way our defense was playing, I believe it would’ve.
I’ll never do that again. Ever.

That 2 minute drill was wonderfully orchestrated by MSU
However, it never should have come down to that. Our defense was gassed, and they aren’t in any shape to go back onto the field at that point in the game. We needed a first-down, and Bobo is a damn fool if he doesn’t realize that. Come to think of it, he probably didn’t realize it, and he was just counting on Grantham to bail him out like he has all season. I apologize for the language, but I am so tired of watching all this talent on offense like a coordinated as a group of headless chickens.

Martinez used to say the same thing about his defensive players.
Execution is a red herring. As they say, “You’re either coaching it or allowing it to happen.”
Execution is the responsibility of the coaches. Amazing how the defensive staff fixed the execution problem. Offensive staff… Still making stupid mistakes. Players making dumb mistakes. Horrible play calls. Offense shuts down when the script runs out.

Not sure if this has been brought up yet,
but the call on 3rd and 8 with 2:15 left bothers me as much as anything. Gutless. Go for the win. There has to be some pass play in the books that is relatively safe for that distance. And tho whole making them burn their last TO argument has no weight. 2 mins with 0 TO is equivalent to 2 mins with 1 TO because of the first down rules. Add that to the decisions in OT, and Bobo must go (and this is coming from someone who has never called for a coaches head until this moment).
not calling even ONE timeout when MSU was driving it at will
in the last two minutes is indefensible
"I know I'm asking a lot, you guys, but hunker it down one more time!"

I just don’t understand how coaches don’t realize that. If >2 is left, go for the win because 2 minutes is really 3-4 minutes of offense by the 1st down clock rules. How does Bobo stay on staff? I’ve never heard a good justification for it other than CMR likes him.

Although I don't wish him ill...
Mark Richt is the reason. From running on first down from the two with 20 +/- seconds to go and no time outs against Auburn in his first year to today’s refusal to even trying for a 1st down with three attempts available from the 25 yard line in OT (leaving all to a a kicker who had missed 12 times), Richt has proven his inability to think and get the best out of his players for years. If his teams can’t overwhelm opponents with sheer talent; he can’t win.

It's bad enough
That we gave up on the OT possession. But what makes it worse is that we moved the ball to the right for a kicker who’s been pushing kicks to the right ALL. YEAR. LONG.
If that kick’s from the left hash, it’s good. If that kick’s from three yards closer in, it’s good.
Bobo deserves every animadversion. . .
. . . but aren’t we giving the defense a bit of a pass? We were winning 27 to 20 when we let the Spartans drive it 85 yards with nary a hiccup for the tie. How can a defense that held them to 72 yards of total offense and eight three-and-out drives in the first half let that happen?
The failure to move the chains, and only score on a big play is solely on the O.

you will find your answer….when Bobo is replaced by a competent OC
I HATE ORANGE, and DGNBs
The whitewash:
The teams to which we lost were ranked second, ninth, twelfth, and thirteenth in scoring defense and second, fourth, fifth, and eighteenth in total defense. On average, we rang up 82.365 more yards and 7.62 more points than those teams allowed. In other words, we’re an above average offense. Get ready to hear this excuse.
We have top 20 talent but only produced a top 40 offense. It’s an obvious problem with an obvious solution.

How off base am I....
to wonder why Murray is deified during and after two seasons where he repeatedly turns the ball over in KEY situations and loses all the big games? Yes, he plays VERY well during a lot of games but why is he the chosen one? Just the stats??
Are Mason and Lemay that bad that they arent even given any real time in games? Am I crazy to think our defense got demoralized after all of Murray’s turnovers?
A Dawg living among Washington puppies
Lemay will be the real deal.
However, there is a reason you only see Mason in garbage time. Do you remember how good Joe Cox looked in similar situations? The result of starting Hutson would probably be about the same.

Since I have not seen Mason do anything terrible in televised games and have not seen practices, can anyone tell me why he isnt given a chance? Does he have a track record of INTs or bad game decisions? What has Mason done to run him off to another team?

He just doesn’t make reads quickly enough to perform under pressure.
by hbtd on Jan 2, 2012 6:54 PM EST via mobile up reply actions
There are plays that you can call that require a ton of time and incredibly quick decision-making.
I promise you that these QBs (Keenum, Thomas, Kellen Moore, all the Leach QBs, etc) aren’t smarter and more talented than Murray.
Newton and Tebow had success passing in college too. Their threat to run helped them. But it was also their OC putting them in position to succeed.
by DocSkraynj on Jan 2, 2012 7:12 PM EST via mobile up reply actions
I didn't say that as nicely as a could
Quick reads are not AM’s strength. Because of the line he is forced to quick reads. How many times did he not see wide open receivers today?
He looks like a world class QB when we play patsies who we can block.
Maybe the play calling should accommodate the pour line play, but in the end we need better line play.
This is true, but yet there are still the mindless 3 and outs.........

Bobo?? What??
Hey I wish Bobo was gone too but they did not score 33 pts on our offence (only 6) our defence crumbled time after time in the second half and they drove approx 70 yards to the goal line in like 40 seconds. Without doubt a bad called game but we had this and the defense went limp.

Our D gave the O the ball on the 10 – for a FG
Our D got an INT in OT with only a FG needed for a win – and we kneeled the ball.

Editor, "Dawgsports"
"The ball ain't heavy." Herschel Walker
we kneeled the ball for a 2 yard loss
after we’d wasted a down on a 2 yard CT run. If that was going to be the strategy, why not give our incompetent kicker multiple downs in which to kick?

No, im with you but............
but should not this 3rd ranked defense in the land have some of the blame here, I mean look at the wide open guys, again 70 yard in approx 40 seconds.. yes the off sucked so bad but in two games this defense has started great and went wet noddle in the second half of the two Biggest games of the year. Both units should share this loss.
Agreed...
they got carved up like a turkey in the second half. That can’t be blamed on Bobo.

Let your offense put your defense in bad situations enough times and the #1 defense in the land will eventually get tired and/or demoralized to the point that horrible things happen.

I think what is frequently forgotten is without Van Gorder, Richt never survives the first five years and without Grantham he doesn’t survive the last two. Mike Bobo has to go! Our defense was great, but got worn out because they couldn’t get off the field. Living in Lousiana now, I will be a LA Tech fan due to family attending there. I think we all need to take a breath
and think of how much of this was really Mike Bobo’s fault. Don’t get me wrong, I was no fan of his playcalling today, however, it’s hard to play good offense when your QB turns it over every time his number is called and the offensive line cant open a hole all day, much less pass protect. If you look at this years team, you see improvement to last years, yes even the offense. Not to mention, this was our first year under Will Friend as the Offensive line coach. I think considering the situation he was given(4 guards and a center, no tackles, no depth, injuries, etc.), he coached our line up fairly well. Not to mention he had to implement a much different system (Drive blocking from zone blocking before) and all with recruits from Stacy Searels. He’s shown the ability to recruit elite lineman in his first year and I believe we’ll see improvement. You have to remember, football is won in the trenches regardless of how good your skill players are. Once he has a solid offensive line to work with, then we can see what bobo really is as a coordinator. We’re not too far off, just try to have patience

Who is responsible for the offense? Not just play calling,
but offensive coordination? This concept “if we have a great line and QB and RB then we can see about CMB” is a falacy. CMB is the OC. All OC falls to him.
Editor, "Dawgsports"
"The ball ain't heavy." Herschel Walker
But he has little control over the circumstances hes put in
OC’s are rarely responsible for the line. Look at alabama, great line+ average coordinator= solid offense. You can ask around and find that Stacy Searels was a terrible O-line Coach, check out Texas’ line from this year. No trenches will never win you a game
Ok, so CTG is fully responsible for the D and the D line and the recruiting, but CMB is only partially responsible for the O?
That doesnt fly in any business or military model.
Editor, "Dawgsports"
"The ball ain't heavy." Herschel Walker
Im just saying
its not all on bobo, there are others accountable. There’s no reason for fans to berate him with the attacks they do regardless, but bobo didnt lose the game, the UGA bulldogs did. Bobo’s a heck of a qb coach and an even better recruiter. If all we need to do is give the line a chance to improve, then its worth hanging on to bobo IMO
How is he a "heck of a QB coach?" If ever we needed a QB coach, it's now. AM has been coached down, not up.
Bobo is responsible for all things on offense. The offense has been stagnant and failed to even get a mere first down in critical situations. Richard Samuel to the corner? That’s Bobo’s lack of vision for talent. Bobo is a recruiter? Recruit whom? Richt recruits the QBs. And if Bobo is a “better recruiter” then why are we so then on O Line? Bobo is the OC. He is responsible for the O. The lack of depth on O falls on his shoulders.
Apply the same standards to the OC you do to the DC and see what shakes out.

Because Bobo likes the deep ball, which is a low percentage pass, and unless you are Stafford, a high percentage INT.
Editor, "Dawgsports"
"The ball ain't heavy." Herschel Walker
Odd...
Bobo gets all the hate but it was Murray who turned it over three times. The last two passes were pitiful. Murray is inconsistent. The o-line can’t block. If you can’t run the ball and the QB is prone to have meltdowns it’s not a good combination.

No team is going to have an outstanding offense every season. Our fate is tied to Murray. The word is out. If you get pressure on Murray he’ll make a couple of terrible mistakes a game. That’s the story is his career so far.
In the past we’ve lost because or defense sucked. The offense is only as great as the QB. Murray is a big question mark.

This was his last game in year 3 (year 2 playing and starting every game).
That’s 4 years of college coaching. Either Murray is uncoachable/lazy/stupid/incapable or his coach is letting him down/not putting him in position to succeed.

Florida fans are in denial about this as well. Sometimes the QB isn’t as good as advertised. Some people can’t be coached up. What are you supposed to do when the QB fumbles over and over on his side of the field or the QB throws INTs at inopportune times.
You can try to run the ball to take it out of his hands, but have you looked at our backfield?
When your QB throws the worst INTs you can imagine - but also has a TD record, things get, well, screwed up to hell.

Bill King just posted
this, here are the highlights:
Mark Richt’s Bulldogs didn’t have to find any new ways to lose in the Outback Bowl — instead, they simply let lots of familiar problems resurface in suffering another second-half collapse and dropping a three-overtime battle with Michigan State.
Again, the Dogs wasted a superlative first-half defensive effort by giving the opponent a couple of cheap touchdowns thanks to turnovers by an erratic Aaron Murray, whose two interceptions put the Spartans back in the ball game.
And again, playcaller Mike Bobo seemed incapable of adjusting to the realities of what was happening on the field and stubbornly stuck with what wasn’t working.
He also talks about Crowell and Walsh, but nails Bobo to the wall

Sad Day
I have been a rabid Dawgs fan for over 40 years, I have seen us fall into disarray and come out of it. But with the talent we have, and the talent Georgia has coming we have no excuses for playing poorly. Today I just knew that we could not hold the lead, I had that gut feeling. We have the talent to compete in the top tier of the SEC but we have to realize as footballs fans that is not going to happen with the current staff we have, mostly Bobo. We need to look at Alabama and LSU and figure out what they are doing and get that winning tradition back. Today I was so mad I just wanted to hit something. We as fans, supporters and boosters need to change something and quick.

That’s all I was venting about. I been a LOYAL “Too many t-shirts” GA fan for many years also, throughout my years in the AF that put me in many not too receptive of GA fans places; especially now being in the middle of LSU territory. Amazing...
Wisconsin’s OC calls a pass play on first down….what a concept!! And they score
Waht is so frustrating...is...
that this game closing coaching perfromance was so very predictable. The part that killed me was watching Franken Samuel IV run 3 flailing runs into the line with the game on the line for the offense to salt away. I give Samuel credit for showing up in the 4th against a tired and less than top talented UF squad and finishing that game, but he has never been able to gain more than a yard and a half against a D-line of substance. I know all of the old fears adn conservative adages about not turning the ball over late in the game with a lead, but MY GOSH!!!!!…running the ball did not work all day. Why not dink and dunk or at least line in the shotgun? I have not much to say about special teams. With the same special teams we fielded the tow previous seasons, we would have another two wins on the year.
Maybe losing will keep the squad dissatisfied adn secure them all returning. Also, perhaps this will land us ranked 12th or 13th behing SC and give us a chance of sneaking up on some teams on the way to BCS push.
"Forget about style; worry about results."

i was optimistically thinking the same
but I may be delusional …..we lost to the four good teams we played this year and Aaron Murray has not shown an ability to beat a really good team in two years.

Is it just me
or does being a Bulldog fan mean your nerves have to be shot out all season long, just when you start to feel optimistic about the team they collapse, the coaching staff makes inexplicable play calls, or the QB throws pick sixes?
Comin` on like a herd of turtles.
Sad, but unfortunately becoming typical
This was another pathetically coached game. I knew the loss was imminent when we kneeled the ball with 19 seconds left. Unbelievable! We played to not lose rather than playing to win. So much for the CMR “victory watch” and Richt saving Christmas. CMR is a good man and a good role model and i do believe that is important. But lets face it, he’s too nice to get rid of Bobo and he doesn’t have the instincts to take us to a level of greatness. Unless McGarrity gets some fire in his belly, bulldog nation will just have to get comfortable with mediocre winning seasons that end with the occasional sec championship. No worries though, this mediocrity will continue to pad CMR’s victory total. That will make plenty of bulldogs happy and content.
I refuse to be delusional anymore........
Tossing aside the great run in the later half of 2007, how many quality opponents have we defeated in the last five years? How often have we been on the wrong side of a beat down?
As much as I hate to say this, the reality of the situation is that we are just a decent mid tier football team with lots of NFL caliber talent.
A sad statement for sure….but true.
"Progress is impossible without change, and those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything." George Bernard Shaw
Learned behavior
How CMR and CMB continue to go with AM truly is a mystery. We will never win a championship with him. He’s a choker. I blame Bobo’s – safe mode – as a lack of confidence in himself as a play caller and his lack of confidence in AM to make the right decisions and not self destruct.. This lack of confidence shows and in turn his offense draws off of that feeling. As we’ve seen sooo many times, the feeling of how are we gonna screw it up this time. NO GUTS, NO GLORY. Both CMB and AM lack this and I’m not sure if CMR has not joined the club.
You're right UGAVike, that he is still young.
But so far he has not shown any ability to rise to the occasion of the big game. Hopefully, with better protection from his line and better options at RB, that will change.

Just not a championship caliber QB. He lacks the consistent accuracy and the natural instincts. He will get better but receivers have made him look better than he really is.
MSU fan here in peace
You guys were fantastic all game. It’s a shame anyone had to lose that game. It entertained me far more than the Alamo Bowl because there was great defense instead of no defense. Also, it’s almost humorous how similar your postgame comments are to MSU postgame comments. It continues my thinking that we’re pretty much identical teams this year. Lost in the conference championship game to get passed in bowl selection, ridiculously good defenses with inconsistent offenses, everyone hating the O-coordinator’s playcalling, ripping on the QB’s mistakes regardless of how he’s been otherwise(I don’t know how Murray has been most of the season, but he looked solid the SEC champ game and today if not spectacular)
Thanks for being part of my favorite game of bowl season so far and good luck next year.
You may thank SB Nation's autoformatting pseudo-language. :-)
But thanks, MSUDersh. I think it was the most entertaining of any we’ve seen so far, mostly because I like seeing games with actual defense being played.

What was so disappointing to me
was that there were several moments in the game where we could’ve avoided mistakes that we’ve made all year that would’ve gave us the lead and avoided overtime. Had we not gone for it on 4th & 1 and put in Walsh/Bogotay to kick a simple 20-or-so yard field goal, we would have had the lead and avoided overtime. Had Murray not thrown one of his interceptions, MSU would have one less touchdown and we would have won and avoided overtime.
There were several times where our defenders basically had the ball in their hands to intercept it yet dropped it, whereas MSU’s defenders capitalized on all opportunities where their defenders were right there to intercept a pass from Murray.

RIP Larry Munson. I hope there's a lot of hobnail boots for you to wear.
Good points
but then, we’ve made those mistakes all year for a reason. If they were gonna stop now, they probably would have stopped long before yesterday. But we keep making mistakes, and to be honest, there are too many differences from these mistakes and the same mistakes we made the last several years that got us in the recently emerged from (maybe) downward spiral. Complacency, failure to work hard every day, poor offensive game planning, poor offensive execution, poor QB fundamentals, poor use of the play clock, poor decision making, inability to catch, etc. It’s almost like the Boise St all over again, where it’s not just a loss, but the way we lost that is just deja vu all over again and makes you wonder if the fixes we saw during the season are actually fixed, or if they were just a mirage (or a bout of temporary sanity).

One good thing
That we’ve improved on from the Boise St that’s clearly visible is our WR targets. Orson Charles got most of the passes in the first half, and in the second half Murray warmed up, with TDs to Mitchell, etc. We now have a reliable bounty of wide receivers to go to for next year, and the good thing is that 3 of them were freshmen this year that got wealthy experience, those men being Mitchell, Bennett, and Conley. Was this Tavarres King’s last game?
On a side note, a big hole to fill next year is tight end. Aron White is a senior, so he’s going to the NFL. Orson Charles may be going, assuming he’s projected to be a Top 15 pick. That leaves us Arthur Lynch, and that’s it. We should recruit a nice tight end for next year.

I doubt Orson is top 15
very, very few TEs go that high. Probably 2nd round.
And no, Tavarres King is a JR.
Also, we have Arthur Lynch and Jay Rome at TE. We also have the possibility of Trinton Sturdivant, and incoming recruit Ty Smith. That’s not enough for my liking, but I like using TEs more than Bobo apparently.

The fact our CBs are in position is a marked improvement actually, and we were 2nd (3rd?) in the nation in INTs.

I see it as direct evidence, both with stats and the eyeball, good coaching can make an immediate impact.
I dont see Coach Lakatos running around making excuses and blaming players and needs a line on and on. He turned a horrible secondary into one of the best in the nation after one season.

As someone seated behind me noted,
there’s a reason these guys aren’t playing WR. And just for the record, we ended the year ranked 5th in total interceptions. To say we lost this game due to our lack of interceptions is just crazy. And for the record, our 3 interceptions on Sunday were twice as good as our average for the year.
