Early morning BowlGameday FANPOST
So I am sitting here early in the morning on gameday, Not early morning thread to converse in so I am making this post for until then. If anyone is awake, lets DAWGtalk..
We have some good poetry for the game from Cherokee's Grip, if you haven't checked it out and love prose (or even if you don't you should), we have the TMI thread. Lots of good info there, several other things to read this morning. Problem is I have already seen them, so now it is just marking off the next 4 hours and 20 minutes or so. So until there is a Bowl game thread let discuss. :) Go DAWGS KTMFD and GATA.

Thanks, CaptJackSparrow.
For the record, the official general bowl open comment thread is set to publish at 10:45 a.m. Eastern, with the Outback Bowl game thread scheduled to appear half an hour before kickoff.
In the advance planning department, there will be a January 7 thread covering A.J. Green’s Cincinnati Bengals, Matthew Stafford’s Detroit Lions, and Mark Fox’s Georgia Bulldogs, who, between them, will be taking part in two NFL playoff games and an SEC men’s basketball opener that afternoon and evening.

I wasn't trying to be an ass.
I just wanted a thread to talk about the Dawgs in.

My bad for being unclear, CaptJackSparrow.
What I meant to convey was that I am grateful to you for setting up an early morning comment thread to pass the time until the planned thread appears, and, since you mentioned in your posting that you were waiting until then, I thought I’d let you know when “then” was. I didn’t think you were trying to be an ass, and I regret it if I came across like I was leveling such an accusation. I’m appreciative, which is why I promoted your thread to the front page.
Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Dr. Saturday likes us! He really likes us!
Matt Hinton predicts a 31-20 Georgia victory.
Meanwhile, at Team Speed Kills, C&F forecasts a 34-31 Spartan win, though, to his credit, he says he hopes he’s wrong, despite the fact that Mark Dantonio is a Gamecock alum. Here’s hoping that’s an early, and promising, indication that the Georgia and South Carolina fan bases have resolved to be a little less nasty to one another in the new year.

Is it just me
or is cocknfire an @$$hat?
That guy is the reason I don’t read their blog more. I wish Year2 did more of the features and articles.
YMMV
I don’t find him to be an @$$hat, although he does engage in @$$hattery from time to time, especially when it comes to discussing Georgia (sometimes). Since it might fairly be said that I, too, so engage from time to time, especially when discussing rivals, I give him a pass. I think both cnf and Y2 (with contributions by kleph) do a great service with TSK.
For the record, I’m not trying to talk you out of your opinion and impression. I can see whence you’re coming.

I like cocknfire...
… though he acts like virtually every other South Carolina fan seems to act when it comes to the subject of Georgia. Other than that , however, I think he generally does good work.

In Powder Springs Rather Than Nebraska for the Game Today...
…so at least I won’t have to look all over town for a TV with the Georgia game on!
Nor will I have to sit in said bar being the only guy laser focused on the Outback through the din of “Go Big Red” chants and “Husker shooters” when The (?) Big Red scores.
I’m a quasi-Husker fan, mainly because of all my good Omaha friends who live and die Husker football same as I do Georgia. Today, despite Spurrier, my SEC roots lead me to pull for the Chicks who I think will edge NU…though admittedly I haven’t watched USCjr much since their defeat of us early in the season.
go Dogs.

I will pull for SC against a non SEC team.
I won’t pull for florida if both engines quit on their team plane.

not that its representative of the fanbase
But I guess the Sparty SB Nation blog doesn’t care about this game. They haven’t done a post about it since bowl announcements.

yeah
I thought the same thing leading up to the game. But I figured they would talk about it the day before at least. After all, we talk about hoops.

Must still be reeling over the B1G championship game loss, and the Michigan Va Tech Sugar Bowl game.
In their defense though, I would be too. Let’s hope their football team is still reeling over it too.

Watching ESPN. Had terrible thought.
NFL. Denver in plyoffs, Man how bad would it suck for Tebow to win a super bowl.
"Everybody has a plan until they get hit" Iron Mike Tyson.
by CaptJackSparrow on Jan 2, 2012 10:02 AM EST reply actions
the good news is
that its very possible that the Bengals hot shot receiver and resurgent DT can beat the Texans. There’s also a small chance that the Lions’ hot shot QB (who threw for 500 yds and has the 4th best passing season in history) could upset the team with an old man kicker that also is getting his second wind. All of these things are more likely than Tebow beating the stealers.

or something like that.

Defenses have figured Tebow out.
It’s a variation of the “Tampa-2” called the “LHP”…or “Let him Pass” the ball defense.
