Because I always aspire to fit in
I figured that in order to really be a good commenter around here, I need to become a lawya. Therefore, I am taking the LSAT. In the morning.
But UGA kicks off at noon, which means I'll miss at least the first quarter. Pray for me accordingly, as I'll be trying to focus in on a logic game and while desperately avoiding distracting thoughts, such as "I wonder if we're driving efficiently into the red zone and then settling for 3's?" or "I wonder if Miss St had some mysterious unexpected gameplan that is befuddling us?"
Tough stuff. I probably should have waited for the December test. But, as always....

Have you been a devout student of my writing or did this just come natural for you?
Between your poetry about Bobo and a simple comment like this, it’s like reading my own material. Except a damn lot better written.

Good luck, Xon.
As someone who took the ASVAB, the PSAT, the SAT, the LSAT (twice), the GRE (general and subject), the TCT, and the Bar Exam, plus (I’m sure) one or two others I’m forgetting, I don’t envy you your day.

You non-education majors and your silly difficult entrance exams
I took the MAT. 98th %ile. Had to be 40th %ile to get into UGA Ed Psych dept. Test was the best/easiest I’ve ever taken. Went to that building by Tate (which I had never had cause to enter before), took the test in an hour. It was great.
Now the Praxis II on the other hand…. that’s 9 hours I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy.

Temperature Cycle Test? Trunk Control Test?
No, really, I’m having a hard time figuring out what TCT is.
The 984 Has Spoken!
Teacher Certification Test.
It was during my detour through the education school. While I didn’t finish an M.Ed. there, I made it through enough of it to be provisionally certified (meaning that, had I chosen to go that route, I could’ve gotten a teaching job while continuing to take courses toward the completion of my degree). I did the practicum and student teaching, realized teaching truly is a calling (I come from a family of teachers), and went back to law school where I belonged.

I took the

Missed this when it was new.
I hope you did well. I’m pretty sure the exam has changed a bit since I took it in 1987, but I thought it was a fun test.* Along with your score report, they send you your answers and the correct answers so you can see exactly what you missed (unlike the SAT, for which you could get that information upon payment of an additional fee). I remember being pissed off, wondering how in the hell I got four answers wrong. Now, if I could just find a way to make a good living taking standardized tests …
*Alan, Brenda, Charlie, and Debbie are invited to a party. Brenda will go only if Charlie goes. Charlie won’t go if Debbie goes. Alan is definitely going if he can find a date. Alan was thinking about asking Debbie until she got sh!tfaced last weekend and threw up all over the dash of his new F150. If Debbie crawls back to Alan to ask forgiveness, which of the following must be false? …
