The Ten Best Moments of the Georgia Bulldogs' 2010 Football Season
Having noticed a few of these types of postings around SB Nation lately, I thought I would try my hand at one, as well. After lengthy deliberation, I now bring you . . .
These are they:
Do you agree? Do you disagree? Did I leave one out? Did I get the order wrong? Let me know what you think in the comments.

What is this 2010 season you speak of?
The last thing I remember is New Years Day 2009.

That was for a Georgia football game?
I thought everybody was getting together to watch the Air Force-Navy game.

The Liberty Bowl clock striking :00 would be my #1 Best Moment of 2010. Without a doubt! Anyone who has ever been a part of a losing season knows this. Fortunately, you can learn a lot from losing that can make you stronger for the next season. I guess we’ll soon find out if the 2011 Dawgs learned and improved off of 2010.

the only good thing
about that moment for me was the knowledge that soon I would be very intoxicated. JustSomeDawg can attest to this.
I can bake like a demon.
Sounds like me walking out of Alltel Stadium/Jacksonville Municipal/EverBank Field

I still don't know why you waited...
I was, to borrow a phrase, comfortably numb by the time those zeroes struck.
Oh, you meant that I could attest to your being intoxicated later…… Yes. Yes you were. And I’m still trying to figure out how to steal that Yuengling box.

I don't get it..
Why are you talking about 2 years from now when we have this huge game coming up against Alabama? I’m just glad ESPN finally saw fit to bring Gameday to Athens (it’s about time)!
I sure hope Ole Miss can put down the Gators today too, that would be something.
BLACKOUT!

I am SO PUMPED for this blackout!
These black jerseys just look so awesome! And they really help us bring our mojo! I just can’t believe they dropped us to #2 in the nation after WINNING! I hope nobody, like say, knowshon comes out of the locker room overly cocky with like a mohawk or anything! What’s that you say? You say Larry Munson’s retiring? ? Well, I love the guy, but there’s no way in HELL that could bring a curse upon our beloved dawgs!
(I still say we’re in a Munson curse. Doesn’t his son do broadcasting?)

We could have Munson petition to adopt Scott Howard
if you think it would help. How can either of them say no to that?
by Just Some Dawg on Aug 23, 2011 10:33 PM EDT up reply actions
I will personally file that adoption petition in the Clarke County Superior Court . . .
. . . free of charge. It would, in fact, be an honor.

I know Munson's son...
… and no, he does not do broadcasting.

I know this isn't really the spirit of this post...
Don’t get me wrong, I understand the point you’re making. But sometimes, even in a losing effort, there are those moments of true sports beauty that remind me why I watch the game of football.
(It is kinda like my golf game in a way, but I digress…)
My #1 moment of 2010 came during the Florida game. Yes, the scoreboard ended up the way it did and that kills me a little inside. But after the first half, I was simply hoping they’d make a game of it, and not get blown out like the two previous years. They came out looking like a different team. I still didn’t think the Dawgs would tie it up, and then Aaron Murray hit AJ Green with one of the greatest pass plays I have ever seen broadcast on television.
Pro or college, any sport I watch, that is one of the greatest plays I’ve ever seen.
Threw it at the back of the defender’s head. AJ caught it and split three DB’s to do so, while collapsing into a pile in the end zone. A made extra point would tie the game. In that moment, anything was possible, and I have to think that had overtime gone another way, UGA fans would see that play on highlight reels before kickoff.

That was a pretty great 2nd half...
Among games I’ve attended the only time I’ve seen us play better after getting down early was the 2006 Peach-fil-a Bowl (primarily because the outcome was more satisfying).

You are, of course, correct, Cousin Pat from Georgia.
There were some great individual moments, though it is hard to isolate the glorious discrete instances from the great mass of the whole, which was (as the statistics, which show a distinct overall upgrade from the 2009 campaign, demonstrate) much, much less than the sum of its parts.
Though I, inspired by the “ten best moments” postings to which I alluded, was going for the humorous angle here, your serious and sincere point is well taken, and I thank you for reminding us that, in fact, there were some great individual efforts, which is one of the many reasons we should continue to cheer for the hardworking young men who wear the red and black. Much obliged.

Yes, this.
I bought a plane ticket to go see that game before the season started, and by the week of the game I was absolutely sick at the prospect of going to watch it. I was trying to steer the focus of the my thoughts to “it will be great to see my friends again [ and mope no you shut up!] and see north campus [teeming with gleeful people in orange Gah!] and… dammit, we’re going to lose.”
Ringing the bell after winning that game was the unquestionable highlight of the 2010 season for me.
