All right, as I mentioned earlier, I was out of pocket and on the road all last night and today, so I trust I may be forgiven for missing this.

The fact that it was a misdemeanor suggests that we are not due for a forthcoming police report involving red panties and borderline attempted bribery, and the fact that it was a former player means the Bulldogs' streak without a current player arrest remains intact, but . . . damn. Just damn.

Et tu, Hines? How long before the message boards begin asserting that Mark Richt's discipline is so lax, it's corrupting Ray Goff's players?

Ummm...

His lawyer said that he will prove that Hines wasn’t under the influence… so yeah… case closed.

Glennon Threatt, I believe.

So, Hines’ case will probably be re-evaluated by the DA, at which time he will be charged with felony DUI and eventually locked up for 20-30 years. (If he doesn’t get the death penalty, that is.)

Well

If a lawyer said it, it must be true. You can trust me guys. After all, I’m a lawyer.

By the way...

… is there any way we can blame this on Pittsburgh instead of the UGA connection?

by vineyarddawg on Jul 9, 2011 10:57 PM EDT reply actions

It's a double whammy.

A Georgia law enforcement official got to arrest a Pittsburgh Steeler and a Georgia Bulldog in one fell swoop. It’s like the scavenger hunt episode of “Reno 911.”

Steelers have bad luck

In or near GA bars. Truth.

And as another joke

Throw a virgin in a volcano? I’m always up for injuring Georgia Tech students!

We don't want the volcano

To return us said virgin. Must. Up. The. Ante.

There Was A Radio Commercial That Did That

Back in the Winter of 81. Bulldog Sporting Goods I think. They threw a virgin (a girl) in a volcano in Tierra Del Fuego, and the gods voiced approval by bellowing “How Bout Them Dawgs.” True.

I bet the effects in that commercial were outstanding

You better get her at summer orientation

If you wait until after the first week in Athens, it’ll probably be too late.

Heck, who said we were using girls at all?

I was thinking of using a random male freshman enrolled at the Georgia Institute of Technology.

As for GwinnettGamecock’s ostensible implication that Georgia girls somehow are less chaste than South Carolina girls, well, to the limited extent that it might be true, it is more a reflection on the relative merits of Georgia and South Carolina men.

Know why Jesus wasn't born in Columbia?

They couldn’t find three wise men and a virgin.

I've heard that said of Athens by Georgia fans

Know why Jesus wasn't born in Gainesville?

Because he hates Florida, just like everybody else.

(I hate Florida.)

If I am not mistaken

we went down the road of virgin sacrifice once before. I said “I didnt get it, seemed like a waste.”

And it didnt get very pretty after that. So, perhaps we shall be a bit more discrete this round.

If you're using a Tech guy, you've got plenty of time and plenty of options
