Trey and Al-Farouq were AAU teammates?
That’s wrong is it not? Trey ran with the Atlanta Celtics, while Al-Farouq was on the Georgia Stars same as Leslie, if I’m not mistaken.

If you read the history of the Clippers on Wiki - your head will hurt.
Somebody had too much time and really wanted you to know everything ever about the Clippers ever.
Short version:
They were the Buffalo Braves (not kidding), moved to San Diego and became the SD Clippers. They sucked there just as much as in Buffalo, so they moved to LA, because competing in the Lakers backyard (whom started in Minneapolis but apparently didnt need to change their name) made more sense to someone.
But all you REALLY need to know is this:
The team has only had six winning seasons in its entire history, and only two since moving to Los Angeles in 1984.
That’s since 1970. ouch.

I still don't get their rationale for leaving
They should have been advised they would be 2nd round picks. and with the upcoming lockout, they may not play any ball until next season. Should’ve come back and dominated the SEC. then they could have enjoyed the 1st round money. What do 2nd round picks in the NBA draft get, a case of generic Red Bull and a guarantee of a fresh towel once a week?
Aaron Murray for Heisman!!
That and a pretty solid chance of getting splinters in their posterior

$$$ in one hand is better than none?
I just wish college meant more to more of these guys. Stafford, $60m – ok – but most of the rest, enjoy being a senior, you earned it.

Only Travis was a borderline 1st/2nd, likely 2nd....
and for him, it’d be worse after next year without significant improvements (that’d be doubtful at this age). Trey on the other hand, WOULD have been a first round pick if he cared. He didn’t, and it showed in his workouts and his combine physical testing. That is the primary reason he’s a #2, because he chose to be one.
