Wednesday Night Dawg Bites: John Isner, "The 12 Pack," and Your Chance to be a Guest Poster
For the second straight day, I’ve been away from my computer throughout the course of the business day, so, while I hope to get back to regular posting tomorrow, I have a couple or three notes to share in the interim. These are they:
- John Isner will take on Nicolas Almagro in the second round at Wimbledon tomorrow. This will be the first meeting between the two players, and, while Almagro is the higher-ranked of the two, Isner should benefit from the grass court, which is why observers are projecting an Isner victory on Thursday.
- My family’s and my annual vacation is upcoming, which means there will be a week in early July in which my posting will be sporadic (assuming, of course, that our athletic director doesn’t get arrested for drunk driving while in the company of a woman other than his wife with her panties in his lap). If anyone is interested in participating as a guest poster in my absence, please leave a comment below to that effect, and I will contact as many of you as are needed.
- The SB Nation Conference Re-Draft proceeds apace, and the conference featuring the Georgia Bulldogs, Texas Longhorns, and UCLA Bruins has been christened "The 12 Pack." The league’s logo reflects the strength of the conference:

however
if you rather have some of our newer “regulars” take a turn, that’d be cool, too!
And I’m liking our new “conference.”

I will be taking my vacation during that time, as well...
… so I might not be able to write a post. If there is a dearth of volunteers, however, I will be happy to step up to the plate.
Let's just give this a chance
I’ll play it straight….I really, really want this!
Good Luck John Isner...
….one of the finest athletes and all around good guys to ever represent UGA in any sport.
