Georgia Bulldogs Golfers Lose Ground on Final Day of U.S. Open
Rory McIlroy, who was last seen turning in a Masters performance that should’ve caused him to replace his caddy with Dr. Henry Heimlich, cruised to a U.S. Open win on Sunday, while the golfers in the field sporting University of Georgia connections performed so poorly that Dawg Sports readers were forced to spend the U.S. Open open comment thread discussing soccer instead.
McIlroy finished at 16 under par, while his closest competition with an Athens association was Russell Henley, who plummeted 21 spots into a 42nd-place tie at four over par. However, Henley still finished second only to Patrick Cantlay among amateurs participating in the tournament. Bubba Watson dropped six slots in the standings to end up tied for 63rd at nine over par, while Christo Greyling was among the linksters who stood at 68th, four places behind his standing after Saturday, at 13 over par.

I am going to try and be somewhat positive
It is very rare to hear about one particular “school” and state when in comes to golf. Golf may be second only to soccer in being more of a world wide sport. We have had tremendous golf teams and now these guys have gone on to be a force. Bubba needs to find his balance – I am not sure what that means for him, but when he does, he will win a fair amount and likely a Major or 3.
A UGA student winning the British Amateur is the stuff legends are made of. I realize most people dont see this or get it, but this is even harder than winning a US or British Open. The pro level majors – you can try year after year after year. The amateurs are just as hard, with just as hard courses and competition, and you only get a few tries. I have to agree with Tiger when he says his greatest accomplishment was his 3 and 3 (3 juniors and 3 amateurs).
If you don’t like or follow golf, please just remember this: Golf creates and donates more charitable donations than the NFL, NBA, and MLB combined. It’s also the only sport that you as a player can play the exact same courses with the exact same gear.

Fail for verb plurality. If I ever publish, God bless my editor.
- Stick (yoke) goes forward, plane goes down
- Stick goes aft (back), plane goes up
- Throttles go forward, plane goes faster
- Throttles go aft, plan goes slower
Now you know all I know.

Other important lessons:
1) Keep the dirty side down, the pointy end forward, and stay out of the trees.
2) The two most worthless things in the world are altitude above you and runway behind you.

I can bake like a demon.
