Who the Heck Are the Creighton Bluejays?: An Early Look at the Georgia Bulldogs' Opening Opponent in the Corvallis Regional
The Diamond Dogs will open the NCAA Tournament on Friday against the Creighton Bluejays, the representatives of the Omaha-based college who will be fighting for the right to advance to, uh, Omaha.
Creighton won the regular-season and tourney titles in the Missouri Valley Conference, but, despite their 44-14 record, the Jays boast an RPI of only 29, which lags well behind the Bulldogs’.
The Corvallis Regional represents Creighton’s ninth trip to the NCAA Tournament, and their first since 2007. In five appearances since winning the 1991 Los Angeles Regional and making the College World Series, the Bluejays have posted a 4-10 record in regional play, being eliminated in the first round in Austin in 1992, South Bend in 1999, Tempe in 2000, Lincoln in 2005, and Fayetteville in 2007.

Creighton Summary...
I saw them play in person 3-4 times this year. They have pretty good pitching, great defense, and don’t score a whole lot of runs.
Smart, gritty club who are hot right now…hope the D-Dogs don’t get overlook them…course you don’t do that with any team at this stage of the season.
Cry 'Havoc,' and let slip the Dawgs of war; - Julius Caesar, Act III, Scene 1
You might want to read up on how Creighton performed in the Missouri Valley Tournament. This is a team that is hungry for success. Don’t underestimate them. They haven’t been in the CWS since 1991 and would love to help open TD Ameritrade for the CWS.
I would say the same thing about UGA................
"One thing I will never do as long as I’m at Georgia is lose to Florida." - Herschel Walker
I wouldn't underestimate anyone.
However, the Diamond Dogs rebounded from what was quite literally the worst season in the long history of the oldest varsity sport at the nation’s oldest state-chartered university to earn an NCAA Tournament bid against the country’s toughest schedule.
As for conference tourney performances, Georgia upset the No. 1 and No. 3 teams in the country in back-to-back games in must-win contests to attain eligibility, and very nearly defeated the team that earned the No. 2 national seed to make the SEC Tournament finals.

It's certainly premature to look forward to the Super Regional...
… especially when we’re paired in a regional with the #3 team in the country. But one has to wonder if the folks at the NCAA have a masochistic sense of humor or something.
A potential Super Regional against the Commies? We just can’t get away from those friggin’ guys.
I hate Commies...
Thought after the Cold War ended we’d be through with them. Wait…your talking about Vandy. Yeah, don’t like them either
