ON THE BUBBLE (IN): Georgia, Auburn, Mississippi, Mississippi State . . .
Auburn and Georgia have strong enough RPIs and enough quality wins that both should be fine if they can finish above .500 overall. Both teams enter this weekend at 25-23 and need to make hay against Tennessee (Auburn's final regular-season opponent) and Kentucky (which Georgia plays this week).
While the Diamond Dogs are in a good position with the country's toughest strength of schedule and a top 20 RPI, the problem is their 25-24 record: Georgia cannot afford to finish at or below .500, which means winning four of their final seven regular-season games and one game in Hoover to finish 30-29. At this point, every game is a must-win.

Is the NCAA tournament...
the make or break line for Perno keeping his job?

He'll be back next year.
The team has improved considerably over last year, not least of all in wins and losses, despite playing the nation’s toughest schedule and losing players to life-altering injuries in consecutive campaigns. Short of a complete collapse in the last two weekends that costs the Diamond Dogs a spot in Hoover, David Perno will return in 2012.
