Dennis Dodd Ranks Sanford Stadium Nation's Tenth Best
Of course, that makes it only the fifth-best in the SEC, in his estimation.
Also, Dennis needs to learn that "UGA" is the school and "Uga" is the dog.

I guess this is highly, highly subjective - but this comments made me think he is an idiot.

I don't think there's a way not to be subjective.
Everyone always think their team’s stadium is OMG TEH BEST STADIUMZ EVAR
With that said, all that chart needs is a picture associated with each entry, and poof… it’s a Bleacher Report slideshow! (That’s not a compliment.)
Those rankings are invalidated by just one column, in my opinion… the architecture column. He awarded Sanford Stadium a 7.5, and I doubt he knows that the entire north and south stands were built without one single concrete support (one of the earliest examples of “green engineering” still in use today). And though I admit that the old sky suites and the new 600 deck take away from the natural beauty Sanford had prior to their building… it’s still a very aesthetically beautiful stadium.
Then, Dodd turns around and gives the LA Memorial Coliseum a 9 for architecture. This is the same LA Coliseum, mind you, that is a converted track stadium, and which actually has almost a full 25% of the stadium blocked off for football games.
(Besides, everyone knows that Sanford Stadium is the best stadium in the entire world to watch a sporting event.)
Regarding the LA Coliseum...
… I should have elaborated that 25% of the stadium is blocked off because of the sight lines and (lack of) proximity of the seats to the field. I’m sure the Coliseum is a beautiful, well-designed Olympic Track and Field stadium. As far as football goes, however, it’s just too darned big.
The huge oval field could fit a narrow cricket ground (which must be at least 150 yards x 65 yards). For football, they place the field closest to the side of the stadium that has an enclosed upper deck all the way around and put temporary stands directly on the grass.

Don't tell that to Brent Musburger - who would, during a game, comment on what an amazing place of beauty it is.

hasn’t had to sit in a suck seat since 1963. He’s been observing all these architectural marvels from his perfectly positioned press box smack-dab on the 50 yard line since the Nixon administration. If you’re in the Rose Bowl, endzone, first row…you might as well be watching the game from behind a dumpster.
I know I’m a homer, but when I enter Sanford Stadium on a perfect Fall afternoon, on the faculty side after crossing the bridge…and I see how majestically the stadium just sits in the natural bowl, and gaze upon the colors which are enhanced by the sweet, sweet smell of bourbon…it’s always breathtaking. That view will never, ever get old.

I know I'm biased...

Missed opportunity.
Others may disagree, but I think the art deco accents and lines that characterize Sanford Stadium’s original main gate could have been and should have been carried forward in the multiple expansions, even if only by suggesting those lines. As it is, the remaining architectural distinction of the structure that speaks to its placement in history is buried under a viaduct built some 30+ years later and is all but lost in shadow. I mean, dang. I can’t even find a decent picture to illustrate my point.
I had similar thoughts - just didnt feel like going through it. His sidebar comments intended for humor just showed ignorance.
And he put Auburn way too high.

![From MMAJunkie.com:
Strikeforce heavyweight and former NFL great Herschel Walker (1-0 MMA, 1-0 SF) suffered a deep cut in training and has been forced to withdraw from next month's "Strikeforce: Henderson vs. Babalu" event.
Strikeforce officials today confirmed the change with MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com).
Featuring a light heavyweight matchup between Dan Henderson and Renato "Babalu" Sobral, "Strikeforce: Henderson vs. Babalu" takes place Dec. 4 and airs on Showtime.
"I feel terrible about this," Walker stated in today's official release. "I know things like this happen in all sports, but I had trained very hard and was excited to be returning to the cage again."
Walker had been expected to face one-time WEC veteran Scott Carson (4-1 MMA, 0-0 SF).
According to Strikeforce officials, a Daniel Cormier knee strike opened a "deep cut under [Walker's] left eye that required multiple stitches"...
Despite the setback, Walker said he hopes to return to action quickly.
"I hope to fight again as soon as the cut heals," Walker said.](http://cdn2.sbnation.com/fan_shot_images/161808/herschel-walker-2_small.jpg)
