One More Reason Why We Should be Proud to Call Mark Richt Our Head Coach
Let's leave aside the stupidity of any rule that determines that Buford lies outside the metropolitan Athens area; this Gentry Estes piece on Georgia's Pro Day, highlighted earlier by Senator Blutarsky, underscores why Mark Richt is such an admirable human being. It will be a real loss to Bulldog Nation, and to college football, if this nice guy doesn't finish first next fall.

Thanks for this post. Part of my one stop shopping at Dawgsports.com - otherwise I never would have heard about it.

Good job by Coach Richt
When I read about this kind of stuff, it really puts into perspective how much more Mark Richt means to The University of Georgia beyond the football field.
With Coach Richt I don’t have to worry about him willfully hiding evidence of players, about rumors of pay for play, etc.
Our players do some dumb things and get in trouble for them, but by and large, unless Coach Richt were there holding their hands every night…how is he really going to stop them? 18-22 year olds do dumb things, been there and done it myself.
I would have loved to have seen Justin Roper in an UGA uniform myself, I remember watching him play for Buford, and then also I got to watch him briefly at Oregon. Had it not been for transfer rules, I think he could have easily beaten out Joe Cox last year for starting QB. Glad to see he got a chance to showcase his talents.
