We interrupt this gridiron Hate Week to bring you a handful of tidbits from the basketball court. These are they:
- Mark Fox announced the signing of a trio of high school seniors on Wednesday. Shooting guard Kenny Gaines, point guard Charles Mann, and small forward Brandon Morris were the three Georgians who inked letters of intent to play their college hoops in the Classic City. Welcome, gentlemen!
- Gerald Robinson, who guided the Fox Hounds to victory in their preseason exhibition game, has been selected by the coaches’ for the preseason All-SEC second team. Congratulations, Gerald!
- The Bulldogs open their season against Wofford at home on Friday night. Now that basketball season is almost upon us, I should take this opportunity to mention that we are planning a group outing to the Hoop Dogs’ December 23 home game against Furman. Some folks who weren’t able to make this year’s Goat Roast will be home for Christmas, so we’re taking the opportunity to purchase block seating for a group to go to the game. We’ll be talking this up more later, but this is your first chance to get in on the fun. If you’re interested in attending, leave a comment to that effect below, and someone from the masthead will be contacting you at the e-mail address provided on your profile.
We now return you to your regularly-scheduled football season, which is already in progress.
Go ‘Dawgs! Auburna delenda est!
