This is Why We Hate Tech
Ever wonder to yourself, "Why is it that we hate Tech so much? It isn't like they've been competitive the last 10 years..."
Well this is your answer.
Now go out there and kick their disgraceful asses on Saturday, Dawgs!

One can at least psychologically argue why they would feel that it's ok to make fun of a dog dying.
But to reply to a “Larry Munson is dead” post with the following:
Good.
I said it. I hate Georgie that much.
I don’t even know if it’s hate-worthy. It shows that they’re just plain bad people.
At least a couple of commenters called the guy out for it.

Aw, geez.
I kept on reading… and it gets even worse.
Do yourself a favor and just don’t click on the link.

Yeah...
I almost feel bad for posting it in the first place. It’s just plain wrong.
Uga’s one thing, Larry’s a whole nother.

No, I appreciate you sharing it, HerschelBlogger.
This is yet another example of how petty, delusional, ignorant, and spiteful a surprisingly large portion of the Georgia Tech fan base can be.

I'd like to think they represent a small segment of their fans
and aren’t a “large portion” of their fans. Not making a head count, but “I’d like to think” that because of the extreme low it takes to be such a person saying some of the things said on there.

Well, perhaps I should have just said...
… “a surprisingly large portion of their fan base that posts on the internet.”
Given who they are, though, and how they have skewed internet fan surveys in the past, that would seem to be a surprisingly large portion of their overall fan base, as well.
From personal experience, I would not be surprised to hear some of this ignorant vitriol coming out of either of my Tech alumni cousins’ mouths.
(Podunkdawg’s relatives are always presumed to be in the pleasant, polite, classy minority, of course.)

Wish I had read your comment before I clicked the link
CLASSLESS is all I can say about the garbage typed there.

h/t off the hat tip
I found the link off Get The Picture, so the true tip should be towards the Senator.
That said, I certainly appreciate the patronage of S&G. We’ve been slowly building and had pretty good #s the last several months.

I don't hate Tech over this
Some of them are celebrating the death of a man who was the voice of their biggest rival. They’re celebrating the death of a man associated with a college football rivalry. They’re not even celebrating the death of a despot, a murderer, a rapist, or any other kind of person society is allowed to celebrate the death of (whether it’s appropriate to celebrate their deaths is a debate for another day). They’re celebrating the death of a man who was the Voice of Georgia, and they celebrate his death only because he wasn’t the Voice of Georgia Tech.
No. I can’t hate fans who do that. I pity them. If a college football rivalry so consumes them that they’re willing to spit vitriol over the death of a radio announcer, then they deserve pity. Nothing more.
The 984 Has Spoken!
Believe it or not this after a mod cleaned the thread up....
I saw it at about 9:00 this morning & it was disgusting…
Hopefully this is what remains of Historic Mark Richt Field after we've gone.
There are a surprising number of respectful comments over there. But then, the rest of them, good Lord.
It really is crap like this
On top of the “45-42 HAHAHAHAHAHA” nonsense that has honestly made me pity the Tech fan. For a program that loves to down Georgia and its recent struggles against Florida, they sure don’t have two feet to stand on considering that their record is just as bad against Georgia over that same time frame (5-16 for those that are counting).
The only thing to do is ignore these people and allow them to just go back to making the tired “Paul Johnson is a better coach than Mark Richt” claims after he falls to 1-3 against the man this year while they bask in their moral victory of playing yet another close game against Georgia that ends in a loss.
It’s really hard to get worked up about a team and a fanbase that my alma mater has beaten 19 of my 27 years on this Earth, but I’ll be danged if they don’t try to push me.

5?
Did you count the 3 that don’t count when George O’Leary was cheating on academics like crazy?

My niece tells me
that she has heard fellow students say Larry Munson was a great announcer. So it isn’t all of them.

I said it in the other thread, . . .
. . . but I’ll link to it in this one, because it bears repeating.

I am curious to know if the
Board of Regents for the University System of Georgia is aware that the trash on this site utilizes a licensed logo and brand themselves as the Georgia Tech Sports Message Board. Regardless to the particular school a person has matriculated from, this level of disgusting drivel should not be seen as sponsored by the University System of Georgia
SEMPER FI and I HATE ORANGE, and GREEN notebooks
Yep
I always kind of forget about Tech, then they do their best to remind me why I hated them more than anyone else growing up.
