This time, it doesn't even involve military time!

Here's the real Doesn't Get The Joke Guy
Background-I told my sister about this post and she loved it, so she made something similar her facebook status. The following exchange then occured.
SG Standard’s Sister: What time is it in Athens? 45 to 7. Go Dawgs.
Doesn’t Get The Joke Guy (a Tech student, by the way): that does not make since. how can a time be a score? stupid uga ppl…….
UGA Student: Sense. Do they teach you how to spell at Georgia Tech??
DGTJG: nope were a math school literature is useless for my degree
Few things make me happier . . .
. . . than rival fans conforming to established stereotypes. If Georgia Tech had beaten someone, 45-7, and another Yellow Jacket fan had made the identical joke, that same fan would’ve found it hilarious.

Obviously this person is not familiar with English
(also fitting a Tech stereotype), since they don’t understand analogy or comparative phrases.

not to jinx anything
but does anyone know if a group of Dawgs will be gathering in London for the SEC title game?
I’ve got the CBS Sports app on my husband’s iPad, but it would be awesome to watch the game with fellow Dawgs. The London chapter of the alumni club is looking pretty dormant, or at least their website is.
As a fellow Dawg in England
I’ve not heard anything like that, but I haven’t really been looking.
I do know that the game will almost certainly be televised, either on ESPN or ESPN America. Boise, Florida and Auburn have all aired, Boise and Auburn live. I think a couple others have as well.
If it’s on ESPN, you can even get it in HD!
Handegg in HD? In the UK?
I guess it’s more likely that you think…

Post below was meant to be a reply to this.
I fail message boards and everything.
So ESPN
shows CBS broadcasts in Europe? That’s pretty interesting, and not at all what I expected…I’ll have to see if our hotel’s satellite service includes ESPN America.
ESPN America’s UK site says they will be showing the SEC title game live. That’s fantastic!
Thanks!
Yep
We get Uncle Verne on t’other side of the pond.
They have basically no advertisers, though, so you get to see the same in-house promos and flashbacks over and over and over. I’ve seen a highlight package of Duke-UNC from about 1995 at least a dozen times.
It's a brave new world
In the Old World.
ESPN America has changed my life. Boise-Georgia was on ESPN in HD, which just made the pain and loathing at 3 a.m. all the more vivid.
The Super Bowl’s even on the BBC. But with no commercials. :)
The Super Bowl with no commercials?

It's surreal
They have some American guy who played, like, D-II football somewhere who gets on pretty much every broadcast. He’s actually fairly intelligent, but the whole thing is extremely low-rent.
They used to put the Sunday night game on one of the really low-end terrestrial channels, and it was just that guy and a somewhat confused British guy talking through every commercial break. I liked them both well enough until the night the British guy showed up wearing an Auburn hoodie.
seriously though....
my brain must be on vacation from the debauchery of saturday. i don’t get the joke. someone show me the way
Sure thing, mikeywb123.
This posting went up at 6:15, which is 45 to seven.
