The Feel Good Stat of the Next Two Weeks

As of last night, the Georgia Bulldogs are 9-8-2 all-time in games against the Vanderbilt Commodores decided by seven or fewer points. On the previous eight occasions that the Classic City Canines beat the Music City Mariners by single-score margins---1898, 1924, 1954, 1955, 1964, 1974, 1983, and 2007---a salutary trend emerged; viz.:

In seasons in which the ‘Dawgs defeat the ‘Dores by a touchdown or less, Georgia is 5-1 all-time against the Florida Gators. In seasons in which the Red and Black win out over the Black and Gold by such narrow margins in Nashville, the Bulldogs are 3-0 against the Orange and Blue in Jacksonville.

Go ‘Dawgs!
