The Mark Richt Victory Watch
Saturday night’s narrow escape from Nashville was not pretty in any aspect, from the play on the field to the margin on the scoreboard to the postgame fracas, though the same could be said for a similar win by the Georgia Bulldogs over the Vanderbilt Commodores in the Music City, and that season didn’t end too badly, did it? It is in that spirit that I present to you the latest installment of the Mark Richt Victory Watch.
The Mark Richt Victory Watch now stands at 101. Coach Richt is exactly 100 victories away from tying Vince Dooley for the all-time school record; he is exactly halfway to surpassing the existing standard in the Classic City.
Mark Richt is the most successful head football coach in University of Georgia history after his first 137 games on the job. With a 101-36 record and a .737 winning percentage, Coach Richt is out in front of the marks posted by Wally Butts (91-39-7, .690) and Vince Dooley (91-41-5, .683) after the same number of games.

An ugly, underwhelming, and bizarre win is always
100 x’s better than a loss! There are so many things that could be said, but hell, we won the damn thing. Let’s get ready for Jacksonville!

It wasn't pretty
There’s no question about that. But in the end… all anyone will look back and see is a W. How many more of those we see we’ll have to see week to week.

Some interesting sentence construction there at the end
Nonetheless, point stands.

Last year's crummy Georgia team
Blew out Vanderbilt and held them pointless.
Every Georgia team ever should ask them for advice. It can’t be that hard.
I am on my phone, but
I think last year’s Vandy went 2-10. This was a winning team & a much better one.

2-10 is correct
Wins over Ole Miss and Eastern Michigan, only one loss in single digits to Northwestern (23-21).
The 984 Has Spoken!
And Ole Miss is still 2-5 against Vandy over the last 7 years
BWAHAHAHAHA!!!

Thank you.
I went on and on about this preseason. Last year doesnt matter. I also said in the podcast that this Vandy team had good team spirit and morale.
If you think “just vandy” you are wrong. And I put it on record. Was I wrong about the score? Yes. Was I wrong about Vandy’s motivation? NO.

The 2007 Georgia team
that finished the season ranked #2 had to have a last second field goal to beat Vandy.
What is your point?
