Dare I use the words Junk, Yard and Dawgs so soon?

As perfectly placed into words by T Kyle King, the second half DAWG defense has been remarkable.  The way the defense has controlled the second half is no doubt a major reason to the success of the last 4 games and a point as to why when the Eastern division championship is brought up, UGA is still in the conversation.  I wanted to take the opportunity to expand on Mr. King's article and further applaud the overall success of the UGA defense.

Let's start with the fact that the UGA Defense is 6th overall in the nation in Total Defense and 3rd in the SEC.  Last season UGA ended up the season 23rd in the nation in this category. For your reading convenience, the rest are in the chart below:

When we have a defense that in in the top 17 in the nation in 7 categories, top 4 in the SEC (a league that has never been known for outstanding defenses - SARCASM) and showing great leaps in the season to date over 2010, there may be a little reason for optimism for this season.
