Irrepressible Gator Blogger, Dawg Sports commenter, and former United Nations delegate Year2 has posted a handy "cheat sheet" for those who want to learn the basic terminology and important numbers germaine to college football recruiting over at Team Speed Kills. Those of us who follow recruiting year round sometimes take for granted that others understand the weird math and opaque terminology that surrounds the voodoo fraternity rush from which college football teams are constructed. That is not the case of course, and if you're interested in getting a better grasp of what's going on Year2 does a nice job of breaking it down. Also since there has been some discussion of the term related to Georgia's 2011 class, I'm providing a link to an article I wrote some time back on the concept of "grayshirting."*
Until later . . .
* Plus you get to chortle at the notion that the 2008 class could have been one of the best in Bulldog history. That's a bit of a cautionary tale, isn't it?
