Atlanta Snowstorm 2011 Winter Weather Open Photo Thread
Our friends and colleagues over at Talking Chop published a thread for posting snow photos, which seemed to me to be a good idea, so I’m blatantly stealing it borrowing it paying it homage by posting a similar thread here. I’ll start:

While I’m at it, here are a few pictures from our trip to Memphis:

Feel free to post your tales and pictures from the neutron bomb the snowstorm in the comments below.

Nothing wrong with being shameless...just ask Garth Brooks or a local Vegas resident:

This thread...
has the potential to be counter-productive at work today ;-)

The Vegas residents are easily startled...
… but they’ll soon be back, and in greater numbers.

Ok, I'd love to post a few, however
I’m apparently not computer savvy enough to make it happen. Can someone tell me how to post pics from my computer?
Best thing
is to create an account with an image hosting site, like photobucket or imgur and then simply upload. Once you do that, just copy and paste the image code into the little icon that looks like a box with a tree in it and there you are.

Oh, Dave.
Yet another example of how anything I write can be written with a fraction of the number of words.
Unfortunately,
If I were to actually try to verbalize this I might still be talking.

How I do it ...
Create an account at a free photo sharing site, like www.photobucket.com if you don’t already have one. You also can do it if you’ve uploaded pics onto Facebook. The point is that the photos need to be up on the Intertubes and not just on your personal computer. Sites like Photobucket give you the codes for sharing the image in a number of different ways. You want “direct link”. Otherwise, you can right-click the photo, select “Properties”, copy the URL for the image, then in your comment, click on the little picture of a tree just below the subject line of your comment, paste the image URL into the space indicated, et voilà.
... and by "otherwise"
I mean once you’ve located the picture on the Internet you want to post. It won’t work while the pic’s still just on your computer.
THIS
made me laugh outloud at my desk at work…..too funny!
I gotta find the pic of my friend taken in the dark & freezing cold just off I-15 and down the road into the desert. We found a 6-7 ft cactus in the freezing windy cold.
I can bake like a demon.
6'7" and just standing around in the freezing cold?
Did you start recruiting it? Sounds like a hell of a candidate for nose tackle.

It is, and it is a protected species, or whatever they call plant life.
Despite the fact there are more Joshua trees out here than there are pines in Georgia! They’re the ugliest damn trees I’ve ever seen. Great album, however.
If you're gonna do it, go ugly early.
Of course, what I should have said was somethign like
Be careful: don’t let that thorn twist in your side.

Are you sure that isn't Toonces the Driving Cat?

Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may win.

Nah. Toonces is now in Athens serving as our Chief Assistant Drivers License Checker.
You’ll be pleased to know that this offseason our players have been driving more and heavier cars faster than they’ve ever driven before.

It wasn't THAT bad
It filled up the student section at Sanford, which is to say that everyone made it to their seats by the midpoint of the first quarter. And I’m pretty sure that at halftime half of the stadium was in line with me at the only concession stand selling funnel cakes…
Having said that, the stadium MIGHT have been 2/3 full. But that worked out okay for me and the Mrs because we didn’t have to fight for elbow room or a place to put our drinks, and no one was being a total jerk because you were sitting in seat 3 instead of seat 4….

The Liberty Bowl
looks like a smaller version of old Tampa Stadium, a.k.a. “The Sombrero.”

I think that "big screen" is the same size
I couldn’t have followed the game by watching that thing – definitely not Sanford Stadium. I guess that what happens you have to play your bowl game at a basketball school, though….

My snowbound truck.

Giving this a try....
Poor UGA took the brunt of the storm, which I found sadly metaphorical for this season….
