Where the heck is the consistency and the intensity? In the 2007 Fla (excuse me, just threw up in my mouth) game, Richt made the controversial (I loved it) call to celebrate the first touchdown. For the rest of the game and that season, the Dawgs played like a team possessed! Open up the 2008 year, and we looked flat, no energy. In 2009, same thing...just add Cox (poor kid, but I loved his grit).
This year we started well against Ooo-La-La and played with energy/spirit/fire (whatever you want to call it...you need it!), and we dominated. Then against South Cackalacky, we came out flat and played flat. The same with Arkansas, until the start of the 4th when CMR held the team huddle. Man, those Dawgs were beautiful in the 4th...dominant, explosive, controlling (save the last TD by Arky, but that happens with aggressive defenses from time to time). Why are our guys not this fired up every game? For years, Bobby Cox has been criticized that his approach is too "business-like" and that's why he only has 1 WS ring. I don't agree with that, but football is different--it is about intimidating and crushing your opponents will to play.
We can bitch all we want about Xs and Os, the coaches, the players, etc, but until CMR starts putting that "fire in the belly" every game and keeping that fire stoked during the game, we will play stay inconsistent. CMR needs to bring back "FINISH THE DRILL!"
