Get An Early Look at Georgia Hoops Commit Kentavious Caldwell
He'll be playing in tonight's 2010 Boost Mobile Elite 24 Game. The Elite 24, which invites the Top 24 basketball players in the country regardless of class, will be televised tonight at 7:30 on ESPNU.
I'm just pleased that a Georgia recruit has been invited and I'm looking forward to the opportunity to see him go up against some of the best players in the country. Let's see what kind of player Fox is going after.
GATA Kentavious!

Did anyone watch?
I was doing anniversary stuff all weekend, and just saw his numbers (20 pts, 4 rebounds).
I did...
Its more like an All-Star game so there wasn’t a lot of defense going on. Nonetheless, he some very Leslie-esque dunks. Plus his level of tenacity was excellent. Overall, a nice performance.

Didn't see it, but the numbers are quite impressive.
There’s supposed to be a rebroadcast on September 8th, I’ll try to find the time/channel (probably ESPNU, but haven’t confirmed that).
I checked earlier, after I asked above...
ESPNU has a replay tonight at 10.

So after watching some of it...
(I flipped away and was watching the Braves among other things). But after watching him for a bit, I didn’t see him take too many deep shots, which is what he’s said to be best at. He was clearly cherry picking (which is accepted practice in these things), but showed pretty good athleticism on the break. Jason Williams (the Duke one) called some of his dunks Leslie-esque, but I wouldn’t. More Mike Mercer-ish, which is still quite good. But Leslie is a little higher, with what seems like a lot more power, and is a class of his own.
As is also acceptable in these things, he wasn’t really doing much defensively, but then no one was and it’s not like there was a set offense to defend either. But he did show a decent handle. Definitely a lot to like, and he seemed taller than 6’4. Also, he was referred to as Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, so there’s that change.
